Ballard @ Pikeville (Pikeville Invitational Tournament)
#1
Championship game of the Pikeville Invitational Tournament is set for 7:30 tonight.

Wyatt Battaile went down with an injury early in the 4th quarter last night so not sure on his status for the game tonight.

Thoughts or predictions?

Without Battaile it could get ugly for the Panthers, could get ugly anyway but I don't know much about Ballard this season but the Bruins are always very good.

Either way great early test for Pikeville that will pay dividends later in the season.

Dunbar, Ballard, Boyd County, Pikeville...that is a good field for this year's PIT.

Some great teams .

Great field this year. Is Battaile for sure out for tonight’s game? Hope he has a quick recovery from his injury. Ballard by 18.

He's not playing tonight but from what I've heard it's a low ankle sprain so he won't be out too long.

I would like to have seen a game in which Pikeville played Ballard with a healthy Battaile, I’m sure it would have made a difference. How much? Who knows. I strongly believe they would have been able to stem the tide a little better in that 3rd qtr that was so miserable for Pikeville (outscored 28-6 I believe). Halftime score was only 40-36 in favor of Ballard.

Before you or anyone else jumps to conclusion, please not I simply think it would have been more competitive, not that him playing would have guaranteed a win. I like where Pikeville is right now considering 3 of their 5 starters were still playing football just 3 weeks ago.
