WILDCAT NATION Wrote:Good with the season ending ranking. Now how many of those will be on the 2018 pre-season top 10? Some loss a lot with their graduating Senior classes.Hmmmm, I don't know. Who losses the most? I know Etown had a crazy amount of seniors for a 3A team. I know my own team losses 11 seniors which is about the 3rd most ever in our history (3 years ago we had 4 seniors...)

Corbin loses 10 seniors. They return 25 juniors.

Corbin loses their QB and from what I heard from a coach #12 might not play because of UK Baseball.

Yeah but I watched your juniors from the 7th grade up. I think they are better than your seniors. No insult to the seniors. Any senior with experience helps. But I watched that junior group absolutely dominate the middle school state playoff, Bowling Green included. Definitely not going to drop off much, IMO. May be better, even without Sizemore and some of the lineman. I wonder if any of the freshman will be able to make any impact as first year players. Depends on the holdback situation with freshman. A 15 year old going to turn 16 year old freshman that has good athleticism and a naturally decent sized body can often help some, at least on special teams, etc.. But that's Casey, Corbin it's probably way harder to get minutes when you have 25 seniors next year! Casey had their biggest group ever, and had just 11 this year. So it must be nice.

It would be a shame if Estep doesn't play. He's something special on the football field. I do understand not wanting to take a bad injury when you're on a scholarship. If he doesn't play it won't hurt my feelings too awfully bad...

I was getting at the same thing. We had some really good seniors, a few of them were three year starters, but I think next year is the best year to date under Haddix. As far as the Estep thing goes, it would really be a shame if he doesn't play. He has been tremendous over the last two seasons and I would love to see how he plays as a senior. I don't see the problem though. It'll be over a year and a half between the end of his senior football season and the beginning of his freshman baseball season at U.K. Even if he were to get injured (God forbid) he would have a lot of time to recover. If the coaches are pushing him not to play I can't blame him if he doesn't though, those scholarships are hard to get. The kid has given a ton to this team and town over the last two seasons and he is appreciated for it! If he doesn't play there are two more seniors with quarterback experience. One of them went from 7th grade through JV and never lost a game at QB, so I think it'll probably still work out.

Corbin will be fine as they will not be challenged until the semifinals. They will need to focus on hosting either Belfry, Boyle County, or possibly Lex Catholic for Thanksgiving.

Boyle county's 2000 team is by far the best high school team I've seen play period.
