Shelby Valley 55, Pikeville 48 15th Region Finals
#1
I cant believe a score thread hasnt been started, so here we go.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

This was a very fun game to watch, both teams played very hard in it. Shelby Valley hit the shots they had to hit to win. I personally think this was Shelby Valleys hardest game in the tourney. And I also think this was the best game they played in the tourney. I wont even care to bet that we might have seen a sneak peek of the regional finals for the next couple of years with all the talent that is returning for both teams.

Actually there was one started, but it was getting so off topic it had to be closed. Glad someone opened a new one though.

2 games??? You do know who they will have to play in the second round don't ya. Just because SV played em tough earlier in the season doesn't mean Warren Central will have another bad one. I hope you're right, but when it comes to the Sweet Sixteen, Warren Central has been there 6 years in a row now, they know what it takes to get the job done. Don't expect a very close game in round 2, IF they get passed round 1.

W/o a doubt these two teams should be the two strongest for a couple more years!

Congrats Valley

Warren Central, the possible 4th Region Representative will be playing the winner of the 14th Region(my pick was Hazard). Wouldnt it be something if the unthinkable happened, Hazard defeated Warren Central, and Valley defeats whoever comes out of the 16th, setting up a rematch from the WYMT. Even if Warren Central wins and Valley wins to it will be another rematch for Shelby Valley who was defeated earlier in the year by? Warren Central, looks confusing, but it could possibly happen.

Isn't Warren Central in like the top 5 or 10 in the state? I'm not sure how high they are but I know that no on in the 14th, 15th, or 16th is ranked.

This game was one of the best played and hardest fought I've seen all year. Both teams battled and were very physical (something that I think kept Pikeville in the game). If a couple of good looking shots fall late in the 3rd and early in the 4th for Pikeville then this game really does go down to the wire. No one ever gave up till the buzzer sounded.

The only thing that I didn't like but was effective regaurdless was that Valley started to play keep away very early - nearly at the beginning of the 4th.

I see these teams playing this game for the next 3-4 years.

SV might win one game and then lights out for them BUT next year if they work even harder than this year they could be a force outside Pike County. Before running off at the mouth at me for what I perceive just wait and see what happens next week and then let me have it if Im wrong..I wont be but miracles happen.

They have a shot to win 2 games, 1 game, or 0 games. If they play like they have lately, they will have a hard time doing well. I would like to see them get back to the run and gun style they played for most of the season.

Yes they are, I know when they beat Valley by 3 points they were ranked 3rd in the State, but I dont know if they have moved down since then or not.

I wont say one word to you in a negative way either pal in how you SAW the game.We all see things differently. No reason to take it personel.I would like to see SV win it all if Elliot county couldnt.I am only for them over you all because its their first trip!!Thats my 2 favorite teams now.:Cheerlead

Didn't expect Pikeville to get by Allen Central, but they did. Congrats to Shelby Valley on winning the 15th, you all were the favirote to win by alot of people. Congrats to both teams!

I think it was a well played game. Both teams played the game they had to play. Shelby Valley played the best game as a team in the whole tourney against Pikeville. Pikeville played their beat game against Shelby Valley. But in a game, one team falls short, and this year it was Pikeville. I can realistically see these two teams back next year in the finals unless they get drawn in the same bracket.

IMO it is a waste for the 6-9 kid to be at Pikeville I think maybe Adams is his name wacthed the whole Tourney and then again on WPRG 9great coverage guys). and the AC game he was passed the ball twice in the post and again vs. SV 3 times all night, he usually had the defender sealed with good post up moves but never got the ball. 2 years wasted and hope next year is not the same way. 6'9 kid in the 15th you should win.

Congrats to Shelby Valley, you all have had a great season and hopefully you all represnt the 15th well and get some W's at Rupp. For Pikeville, congrats on a wonderful season and you all have nothing to be ashamed of and you all will be contenders for the next few years to come.

Hey everybody, this is my first post on BGR!

Just want to say I am glad that someone opened a new thread about the boys' game last night. I was at the Expo, and I thought it was a very entertaining matchup! I was disappointed to see the other thread veer so far off-topic last night before it was closed, I was hoping to read some other opinions about a very hard-fought game.

I thought they always put teams from the same district in different brackets.

They do. The only way for district rivals to meet in the regional is in the final. Before this year, the last time this happened was South Floyd/Allen Central in 2001.

Yea, I was kinda asleep when I put that and wasnt thinking real clearly.
