Union Co. @ Paducah Tilghman 10/13
#1
3A-1 District battle for second place. Yawn.

Caldwell Co. earlier defeated Union @ Union 39-7. Paducah Tilghman finally showing a pulse and with a bye week to heal up a bit. Really have to wonder what genius scheduled undefeated 5A power Christian Co. as the season ender for PT.

Saw Union in person. They have a really nice QB and some quality skill guys. Defensively, they aren't bad. They did just enough to stop a solid Madisonville-NH run attack and shut down Ballard Memorial's air attack. Turnovers have put them in bad situations the last two games.

The ratings say the game should be close. History and this year's district results say PT is a heavy favorite. This comes down to how the teams matchup and I think PT can run on them with success. The big factor will be if PT's athletes shut down the Braves' passing game. If Union finds themselves in a hole and begin to force the issue, the turnovers will most likely follow. Historically PT takes many of those turnovers to the house.

Also, PT at home following a week off. Coach Duncan should have the Blue Tornado ready. If they are focused they should roll in comfortable fashion, especially if they stay away from the bad penalties that constantly plague them. Union Co can possibly hang around if they win the turnover battle and get this game in the low 20's. The QB can't have 3INTs like his previous two outings.
