Believe it or not, it actually was exciting. Close game all the way til the 4th, until the Cards pulled away with some big free throws down the stretch.

The Cards worked the hardest.the 1-2-2 press killed SC in the 2nd and 3rd quarters when LC didnt press in the 4th i still cant figure out why is when Sheldon Clark jumped out to a little lead and held on to it . They started pressing with about 3 minutes and got back close SC hit there free throws which is what wins alot of games . The 6 points out of Sumpter when she came back after getting hurt was really big i believe the game was tied. The 8th grader for SC showed alot of poise down the stretch handling the ball and knocking down freethrows

Congrats SC!!! Great game. How is the girl that got hurt?

Very entertaining basketball game to watch. Candace Preece maybe turned in her best effort of the season when needed the most. I'd say she and Sumpter combined for 40+ points. I don't know what kind of game plan the team will try and use tomorrow but hopefully it works. We played MC though last time, don't expect anything less. Although they're best player was hurt. Does anyone know her status her status for he game

Yes this was an exciting game. The officials took us out of the game a little bit with all the foul calling. We had three starters with 2 fouls each before the first qtr was even over. And had one with three before the half. They did cause a lot of turnovers on SC when they pressed, if it wasnt a turnover it was a time out. Matter of fact they had to call two straight time outs later in the third Qtr. We just missed way two many free throws and lay-ups. When the kid got hurt and the long delay took our mo from us, we were really starting to heat up and get turn overs on the press. I hope the kid is ok that got hurt.
I think SC was like 34 of 42 from the line. Not really sure what or how many LC shot.
Dawgs hang your head high and work your butts of this summer and get ready for next year. Now as SC goes I hope they go out and knock off the Hornents but its going to be a large task. I think the hornets have way to much size and speed for SC.

SC broke the press pretty good I thought. A lob everytime to #10 and a basket.

Figure of speech Batpuff. Just saying they broke the press a lot and turned it into 2 most times it was lobbed up court. I just remembered # 10 caught it a lot.

I know for a fact we had about 8 or 10 points off of turnovers caused by the press. Yea they broke the press but it was like your saying it was you probably had 4 or 5 easy layups and three of those were when we were on the floor fighting for the ball and they was able to throw it ahead while we still had players getting up off the floor.

I wasn't at the game, so I don't know... but does anyone know the actual free throw difference between teams? I heard that there were around 83 total with SC shooting at least 75 of the 83.
If this is correct... sounds like LC didn't have a chance.

They didnt have a chance when it comes to the free throws but thats not what lost the game but a big reason.

:yikes: 75! NO WAY! Both teams shot around 40 each, so it was pretty even.

Sorry cards_athlete... I just realized that I put 75 out of 83... I meant 75% of the 83.

Unfortunately they didn't have a chance. The first half foul count was something in the neighborhood of 17 to 7. It was way lopsided and terribly called.
Dawgs...hold your heads up. You played your hearts out but it's just hard to play when it's 8 against 5. You guys had a wonderful season under your new coach....go with pride. Charlie and Bree you will be missed girls but you contributed big to your team and they know that. Good job girls.

I heard that SC shot 43 of the freethrows, so that would mean of the 82, LC shot 39; pretty even.

WOW! Regardless of how even it was... 82 free throws in a game is a bit much...

I would have to agree, the reffing was definatly lopsided in the 1st Half! Lawrence County played their hearts out, but that night, they weren't the better team...
I do beleive you forgot one of the girls whenever you mentioned the seniors being missed and that was Meagan DeLong. All 3 seniors will be missed greatly and everyone wishes you all the best of luck in the near future!!

Like I said when I posted this, I didn't know, I was just going on what I had heard.
Actual stats, finally, were:
MC = 35-43 @ 81%!!!!!
LC = 26-37 @ 70%
Sounds pretty even to me and both teams shooting nicely from the line it seems.
Still hard to believe that there were 80+ fouls called in a tournament game.
