Powell at Perry 1-10-17
#1
Powell Co at Perry Central tonight!

This is a battle of probably the two top teams in the 14th Region tonight.

No way Powell is #2
That being said Perry by 20+
Powell may be top 6

LOL not obvious that Hog is from Powell. Need to get a grip on reality my friend. I like your enthusiasm, but umm no way Powell is top 2 in the region, maybe not even top 5.

Powell has a good team and a wise old seasoned coach that has taken 3 schools to the state tournament, but beating Perry at Combs Gym would be a huge hill to climb. For one thing Powell doesn't have any size, basically starting 5 guards. Perry has Tobler and the two 6'8 transfers from JBS.

But one thing for sure is Fraley will have his kids ready to give it 100% effort.

I do agree, though, that other than Perry at number 1 there are several teams that could claim the number 2 position in the region. There's not a great amount of difference between 2 through 7. Maybe Cordia might be a slight edge on the others but not by a huge amount.

I would have Powell at 5 ahead of Estill, Breathitt, Leslie, Wolfe and Buckhorn.

I think this is about as close of rankings that everyone can agree on

1 Perry
2 Knott
3 Cordia
4 Letcher
5 Powell

Considering Anosike had 21 against Harlan County, he should get 40 tonight, if they continue to feed him the ball down low. That's definitely not necessary though, because Tobler can drive and score almost at-will and Noah Back can and will drain it from the perimeter. Way too much fire power on PCC for Powell to keep it close. I will be shocked if Powell County can stay within 25 points of the Commodores.

LOSERS QUIT WHEN THEY'RE TIRED, WINNERS QUIT WHEN THEY HAVE WON

Perry only won by 13 and Powell had it within 5 point in the third quarter. Are you surprised or is powell underrated ?

I'm not surprised. Nobody gets up to play Powell county. Especially right after winning the WYMT.

Powell is underrated while they overrate other players and teams. Powell has some good players that are never talked about and now they have a first class Ky coach to bring that talent together. Come tournament time they will be on fire.

Nice post. Not sure what the stats were for the guys. I had to sit this one out. BUT I would like to add having Prince, Idris, and Tobler makes them a 3 man wrecking crew. When in they HAVE to be guarded and mostly doubled on. Leaving Back wide open. In my opinion he will have great percentages. He is a great shooter, if the honor them. Feed the bigs. Whether Hill or Cornett is in, they need to make a move so both of them have to be honored as well. So it's a field day for the big men. -if played correctly and sticking with 8 or less guys. Hoskins could make a real run at this thing. Let's see where the hearts at?!?
