I know one fan asked about the loss vs. Fleming Conty and I still haven't figured out the Loss either. Alot of the fans blamed the RAIN that night at Russell and I just don't buy it. Especially when West Carter turned around and stomped Fleming County on their home turf and we beat West pretty bad on their home turf. There is no way this year there should be any losses in our District play. I know there was 2 big plays vs. Fleming County and that was the 92 yard Interception return for a TD and when we didn't make the 4th down play in our territory and Fleming took it in from 20 yards out. It was 7-6 at halftime Russell and those 2 plays made 18-7 fleming. If we take the 92 yard interception return and if Russell had punched that in for TD we are up 14-6. Then if we just punt the ball away in our Territory when Fleming went in for their 2nd TD in 2nd half and continued to play the strong Defense we would have finished with a "W" at 14-6. Russell only gave up 104 yards of total offense the whole night! NO way at home we lose to Fleming County! RAIN or NO RAIN with our team that can Run 7 or 8 strong Running Backs no way we lose at Home!

Fleming County game was a mixture of a lot of bad things and unfortunate things happening at once. Backside defensive linemen making plays as our runners pitter patter thru the holes to keep their footing hurt. QB couldn't hold onto the ball hurt. MLB Slone and DB Conley leave game with injuries right before Fleming runs up the middle hurt. It was just one bad thing after another. Fans compare it to the loss to Lewis a few years ago but in that game Russell got the big head and quit playing hard. This years Fleming game Russell seemed not to show up. Lol
