the final was actually 71-55 and lcc did play a gritty tough game, but were clearly outmatched and could have been beat worse if cumberland wasnt still knocking rust off from taking an entire week off practice or games from dec 20th-26th. it is a real shame that lcc's coach set the tournament up to have the two best teams in the tournament meet in the first round (powell and cumberland) if cumberland plays a weaker opponent in the first game while shedding the rust they had picked up and then got powell county they probably win the tournament. having said that, congrats to powell they deserve the title

The choice to play or practice is the coaching staff's. How do you know that the LCC coach set it up that way? Clearly since Cumberland shot 83% from the foul line and 50% from the floor says the rust is off. Cumberland is good, but don't make excuses. Good luck to Cumberland!

it dont matter if they practiced or not, there was no way the boys from powell were gonna loose to cumberland 2 times, and seein as powell was cumberlands last game before the tourny, they should have known what to expect. powell just simply came out ready to play, when they come out ready to play look what happend with cumbeland and sheldon clark, when they dont come out ready to play look at the cordia game. but powell did a great job, they needed this tourny. good job to all the teams, it was a good tourny.

anyone that understands basketball knows that the curcumstances leading up to the 2nd game between cumberland and powell clearly effected the outcome of the game. you dont have a 22 point flip flop in 9 days unless there are unusual circumstances. one team off for an entire week while the other is playing 4 tough games in a row, then have 2 or 3 more days of practice in addition will definitely effect a game. having said all of that, my hat is off to powell county for working hard to improve themselves and congrats on winning the tournament. they have an exellent young coach and a solid basketball team. good luck in the 14th. every win they get from here on out reflects well on cumberland
