Charlie Osorne, Flat Gap High School holds the Johnson Co single game scoring with 64 points in a game in 1957 I believe. He is also the # two leading scorer in the 15th region behind King Kelly Coleman of Wayland high School, and ranks near the top in the state in total points.

Just read on KHSAA records that Ervin Stepp holds the record at Phelps with 75 points in a game... He has others such as 69, 2- 66 point games and I believe a 64.

The most impressive game by an individual I remember is Scott Moore from Breathitt. He had 68 in a game at Clay County one of the hardest places to play. It was in 1996. The most impressive part was he had 55 in the second half. But they still lost by one.

I would have loved to have got to see some of those games back in them days! Places like Flat Gap with the upper deck, Meade Memorial, Oil Springs, Inez, Warfield, Van Lear, Paintsville, Blaine. I have heard some awesome stories from that era. There were some great players from these schools. Would make a great book!
