Ashland's Quinton Baker commits to Marshall
#1
Congrats to the young man. An outstanding football player and by all accounts, an even better person. The Herd's getting a good one.

Best of Luck to Q!!!!

Marshall has done a good job at getting some of the better local guys coming there way, within the 100 mi radius of the college when i say "local". With Q's work ethic, size, and SPEED, I think he will be a factor in their offense at some point, much like Arliss did at UK. Congrats to he and his family for getting all this out of the way before his sr season. Now he can focus on his senior year of Hs and not have to worry about this decision.

I thought I heard that he committed to UK a few months back. Am I wrong?

I am very happy for the kid and even happier that he decided to play at Marshall as opposed to UK. UK would have surely misused his talent as they often do with players. I don't know what schools were recruiting him but I always thought WVU and other teams of that type would help him excel. Marshall could be a great fit for him as well.

I'm a Marshall fan so m really happy about this. Good luck to him.

Is he big enough to play running back at the next level? Or will he switch to dback or receiver?
#15
5'9-200lbs is plenty big enough to play tailback at the next level. Speed kills and he has plenty of that too.

As a situational back yes, but I don't see a young man that small being an every down or feature back. He doesn't have the size or power to grind out those short yards in the trenches.

I would also like to add that I have seen this kid play up close and personal and if he is 200 lbs then I'm 600! Marshall might get him there with the right diet and weight lifting program though.

He is a legit player. I would say top 3 in the state.

I don't think he will be an every down back. Probably best on screens and any play to get him in the open field. Not an up the middle type back. I guarantee he will have some TDs on kickoff returns.

Congrats to Baker and best of luck to him at whatever position he plays.
