Making sense of Stoop's defensive recruiting
#1
Mark Stoop's has got a lot of credit for being a good recruiter at Kentucky. On the defensive side of the ball I have to wonder if Stoops recruiting is based on need or is it as simple as getting the highest ranked recruit possible to sign?? I know DE is a very important position on the football field and Stoop's has done a good job recruiting solid DE's to Kentucky he has signed 6 and has a commitment from 3 more. IMO LB was one of the weakest positions on the Kentucky team this past season. Stoop's was forced to start a converted WR at middle LB (Josh Forrest). Stoops has only signed 4 true LBs and has commitments from 2 more. I have to wonder what is going on here because the base D has been a 4 man front with 3 LB's??? IMO Kentucky's D has improve very little from the Joker day! Does Stoops have plan?
