Oh boy! Are you guys going to get some blowback from Ft. Thomas on this one!

1) Cov Cath
2) HHS

5) BW
6) Cooper
7) Boone
8) Newport
9) Dixie
10) Can't think of anybody else deserving a ranking.

^^^

Remember this has nothing to do with year's prior...it is a real time snapshot of where you are this season. It is fluid and based off Friday the Birds have some work to do whereas CovCath and SK have been very impressive thusfar.
#4
SK beat a Collins team that's now 0-2. Then Holy Cross for goodness sake.
I wouldn't be so quick to dethrone Highlands just yet. Cov Cath at #2 for now. SK #3
#5
Cov Cath and Higlands are 2-0 playing stuff competition. SK played a sun-par team in Collins and a school not even a quarter as big as they are.
#6
I don't know if I would call Boone, Dixie and Campbell stiff competition. We won't know how good or bad SK is until the playoffs.
#7
SK and Ryle should have swapped schedules this year!

Game of the Week:
Dixie Heights vs. Beechwood

This early in the season I'm ok with the top three in any order. I would place Beechwood at #5. Camels deserve #4 slot for now. This weeks NCC-CC game will be a good indicator.

1. CovCath - very impressive against a couple solid 6A teams, lots of depth and athletic
2. Highlands - the defense is very good, offense isn't as explosive as they've been
3. Simon Kenton - Struggled in the 1st quarter against 2A Holy Cross
4. Cooper - Hard to have a team that's beaten Ryle and NCC not in the top 5
5. Beechwood - played tough against one of Ohio's best D2 teams this year
6. Campbell County - hung with Highlands
7. Dixie Heights - lost big to a very good team
8. Boone County - looked good against Conner, could be better once defense figures it out
9. Newport - very athletic, very big, can't afford big mistakes
10. Tied: Lloyd, Scott, Walton Verona

I'm saying stiffer competition than SK to this point. Which is what this poll is for. So FAR this season.

No doubt is in the conversation but comparing the teams you have to put them at 3rd at this point in the year.

1. Cov Cath (I think they will go undefeated in NKY this year)
2. Highlands (Bryan Station looked pretty good against Ryle but only won by 7 in the varsity scrimmage.. Not sure how you want to take that at this point)
3. Simon Kenton (I think they are one big school win from the second place spot but depending how the year goes could grab número uno)
4. Campbell
5. Cooper
6. Dixie
7. Beechwood
8. Boone
9. Newport
10. Lloyd / WV

Then I'd say it's a toss up but Scott would definetly be my next in.

If that is the case then how is NCC ranked in the top 5 and Cooper isn't in your post?

I will say this, I think Boone will surprise some people this year. I actually think this weeks game against Cooper is the game of the week in NKY.

Lamb for Boone is the real deal as their QB and is the best QB I've seen so far in person.
I think Cooper is in for a rough night, and I'm a cooper fan. Hope Cooper can win this one but I won't be surprised if Boone gets their 2nd win of the season this week.
