Knox Central Hires New Girls Basketball Coach
#1
Just heard KC has a new girls basketball coach today. Wendi Messer, former KC grad alum, and played at Campbellsville for 3 yrs, before returning to Union her Sr. year.
I wanna wish her many happy wins. We are Panther Nation!!!!!!

Is the program run down so bad that no PROVEN WINNERS would apply or is this just more of the same.

I had heard some names that were rumored to have applied that I would have thought would have been a bigger hire. Who knows though this could be a good hire in the long run. With the program being in disarray it will take some youthful energy to get it going again. Good luck Wendi Messer!

1 year as assistant at Union College. Is all I know of. And that is still an upgrade is the sad part. At least we have some hope.

Something I never heard of on here, or anywhere else for that matter, but it would have been something to seen Elam on the sideline again, this time as a girls coach.

He will never return from Florida. Don't blame him.

Give Wendi a chance.....All coaches have got to start somewhere! At least she is a KC grad and knows the environment she is getting herself into. This is a plus for the kids and the school.:Thumbs:

Hope Wendi brings the energy she brought as a player. She was a very competitive hard working player.

She better bring discipline!! And if so she will be very successful

I dont care if a coach has experience or not. You gotta start somewhere. A lot of good coaches get over looked because they dont have years of experience as a head coach. I want a coach that WANTS TO BE THERE. I prefer coaches that want to build a program from ground zero and on up. Does Knox County have a good youth feeder program?
