Hensley fires 1-hitter, Kittens roll past Lewis

VANCEBURGMegan Hensley threw a one-hitter on Thursday and got more than a little help from her friends offensively in Ashland’s 12-0 win at Lewis County.

The Kittens rapped 16 hits and scored four runs in the first inning to take control early.

Hensley went the distance in the six-inning runrule contest, fanning 16 Lady Lions.

Katie Baldock was 4-for-5 with two doubles, tworuns and a run scored for Ashland (2-1).

McKenzie Vanover went 3-for-5 with a roundtripper, three RBIs and two runs, Carly Conley finished 3-for-4 and knocked in two, and Megan Griffith was 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Kelsey Rizzo took the decision for Lewis County (14).
