^^^^^^ According to this khsaa maintained website.... and I'm sure if something isn't right, and die-hard history buff will correct me. And yes, I know it's only updated from the 2013 season back. But I did include Butler's 2014 state title in the numbers.
Region's 3, 9 and 15 does not have any Girls Basketball State Championship teams.
Region's 2, 4, 10 and 16 have one State Championship team each.
Region's 1, 5, 8, 13 and 14[/B have two State Championship teams each.
Region's [B]11 and 6 have 6 State Championshp teams.
Region's 7 and 13 have 7 State Championship teams.
Laurel County (Region 13) has the most state title's with 5.... (defunct: spilt South and North Laurel)
Butler (Region 6) and Sacred Heart (Region 7) and Lexington Catholic (Region 11) each have 4 State Title's.

One thing that kinda surprises me... Region 9 (NKY) and Region 3 (Owensboro area) doesn't have any GBK State Champions.
And Region 4 (Bowling Green area) only has one state championship team.

You didn't include Region 12.
Is Laurel County the only state champion there?
It seems like Pulaski used to have pretty good teams.

The Ind. isn't for Independent....
I was using it for Individual... 4 Individual Teams...
There have been 4 individual teams that are Private Schools to win 12 different state championships.
Mercy, Sacred Heart and Lexington Catholic are all Catholic schools.
Lexington Christian is a Christian school.

Gotcha!! I am so used to people on here classifying independent schools as private schools. I just assumed that your abbreviation ind. meant independent. That explains why the numbers were not adding up.

I understand what youre saying jarons. For some reason thread after thread in the football forum has posters calling independents the same as privates.
