Hard to believe that the 14th only has 5 wins in a 20 year span.

Knott County Central has 2 of those wins in the past 2 seasons.....
2013: Clay County 68-54
2012: Boone County 71-54

Whitesburg beat Wayne Co but don't know the actual year and score.

Perry Central had one of the 14ths wins in 2004, beat Morgan County 66-45 and then ran into eventual state champ Warren Central. You figure with the talent that has been around in the past (not talking all the recent transfers) that the 14th would have won more than 5 games.

EDIT: Cougarpride, it was 2002. Perry beat Whitesburg by 30 in the regular season and then Whitesburg won the regional semifinal by 2, heck of a game.

I was at work listening to that game in sporting goods radio display. Lucky I wasn't fired.

Who has the wins for the 13th Region? I know Corbin has a few. South Laurel has most of their wins in the 12th Region.

20 years ago would be 1994. Harlan Ind may have a couple of those wins. I'm not real sure.

I believe that Corbin has either 2 or 3(not sure what year they lost to Fairdale in the 2nd round, but I think it may have been 22-23 years ago) of the wins, South Laurel has 1 since being in the region and I would guess that Harlan or Clay Co. would have the others.

1991. Corbin played a great game against a great team that night.

94-95 Harlan Ind beat Adair Co and University Heights. Lost to PRP in Final Four.

95-96 Harlan beat Fairdale. Lost in 2nd round.

93 Harlan beat Casey Co. 94 Clay lost to Fairdale in overtime. Pretty sure Fairdale won the State that year.

Sadly, the 14th region has been the weakest overall region in the state for years. If this recruiting keeps up it could change that.

1991. I was there, they just got beat by a heckuva team in Fairdale.

Not sure, but will take a shot at this for the 13th region.
South Laurel- 1 win- They won the state the previous year in the 12th.
Corbin- 2 wins
Harlan Independent- 4 wins
Clay Co.- 1 win
I believe those are wins since 1990.
HDE would be the man to ask on this question.

I think we should go ahead and count South Laurels wins for the 13th since there here now.

That would move the 13th up another notch.

I find it hilarious that the most talked about region on here continues to be the worst at the state tourney Confusednicker:

Corbin played a heck of a game against one of the best teams ever in the Sweet 16. Actually, Corbin was ahead with about a minute to play. If I remember correctly no one else came as close to beating Fairdale in the Sweet 16 that year.

If you do that then you would have to count those 13 Scott County wins from 95-2004 as 11th region wins. That would put the 11th region's total of 53 wins at way more than the 7th region.

Harlan 1995- 2 wins
Harlan 1996 1 win
Corbin 1997 1 win
Clay County 2001 1 win
Corbin 2005 1 win
South Laurel 2006 1 win
South Laurel 2007 1 win

Surprised that the 4th isn't higher.

How many of the 15th wins are PAintsville and Shelby Valley?

14th is so weak at literally everything

Paintsville won 9 games between 1996 and 1998. Paintsville also won a game in 2008 for a total of 10 during the last 20 years.

Shelby Valley won 5 games in 2009 and 2010. Johnson Central had a win in 2000 and Pikeville had a win in 1999. Allen Central had the other 15th region win in 1994.

The game was tied with less than a minute to go, Corbin had the ball and was trying to hold it for the final shot. The back up PG(the starting PG was injured earlier in the quarter) got trapped and turned it over, Fairdale scored off of it and went on to the win on the way to their second of back to back titles.
