say that my heart goes out to some of the people who are the tar-
gets of such cruelty. Some of these students aren't even involved
in athletics and some of these taunts were in reference to situations
over which these students have no control. It's heartbreaking to see
how hurtful these innuendos are, not just to the students involved but
to their families. I understand this rivalry and I enjoy the fierce com-
petition as much as anyone. And I'm not saying that it's one-sided.
It just so happens that the PHS list is the only one I have read so far.
But the proof of which team is better needs to be left on the field.
And while a handful of students at each school may think this is "funny"
I have faith that the majority of students at each school know where
to draw the line. Hopefully the game will be well-played on both sides,
called fairly and free from injuries. May the best team win and every-
one keep their perspective about what this is - a high school football
game.

I do know who did bring the JCHS list to PHS however, and he had no business doing so.

I didn't read either list, but I heard about both of them and they both went way beyond the limit of pre-game bantering. I hope that this "Top Ten 10" list is stopped by both schools. It started several years ago when PHS received a fax from JCHS, they were funny, not personal and one was fired right back at them. Now, a few years later, both of them mention specific names, personal problems, and lots of other things that shouldn't be said.
As for Rooster saying that it takes a "demended sick mind" and "most of it was authored by a Paintsville basketball player", he's basically doing the same thing that he's condeming. Both letters from both sides of the creek went way to far. To blame one and not blame the other is being a little to self-rightous for me. Both system need to halt this useless waste of time and find out who authored these list and take care of it. This discussion board doesn't need to try and name names of the authors from either list, and we sure don't need to get in to a name calling, war of words regarding the list. If we do, we're no better than those who thought they were being cute and funny.

As an Alum and parent at PHS, all I can say about the list that was sent to JCHS made me feel as disapointed in my school as I could ever be!!!
I never found any humor at all!! Only disgust! I am ashamed and from my family.....we are hurt and very sorry for any pain that a few of our students dished out. Totally un called for!!!
Trust me.... with the exception of 2 or 3...JC's list was very mild....and my daughter made that list twice...lol...! They tried to make fun of her used Lexus.....which I wonder how many of their cars are actually in their names as her's is!! And the pic of her and 2 friends showing the "Shocker" as a joke......It was a great pic.....but when the JC kids made their comment and explain what the shocker is.....you got that part backwards!!!!.......Or.......is that the way it is done someplaces???....just funnin around with you!

Johnson Central's was bad but it was nowhere near the trash that was on Paintsville's. Each Central player that was mentioned will have something extra for the Tigers tonight you can guarantee that.

Listen rooster, I said I heard it on a radio talk show. I was asking if there was any truth to it, popping off is claiming they did do it. I have watched Central play several times and done some research too. JC's opponents have a combined record of 9-23 (North L. 3-2, Byran Station 1-4, Lawrence Co. 1-5, Boyd Co. 2-4, Logan 1-4, South Point 1-4). There is not one real solid club they have beat(N.L.'s victories came against opponents whose records are 3-3,3-3,2-4) and Paintsville hasn't done the same either with their victories coming against teams that are 4-16 combined. I'm not saying Paintsville is going to win because I'd be a fool, but before you try to make someone look like an idiot actually look into what they are saying and simply tell what happend.

Johnson Central 58 Paintsville 18

There usually is just standing room only. When I was in high school there were usually anywhere from 5,00-7,500 people there each year. Probably the best atmosphere, when it's close, than any EKY game each season. I have been to the Trinity/St. X....have to say it still takes the cake though.

From what I've heard neither "Top Ten List" came from football players, any truth to that? Let's be honest, both teams have been practicing all week long and the players have to go to class. The players don't sit around and think of mean and cruel things to say of each other, because they simply don't have time. Of the cruel and mean things said, at least half don't even mention football players. These "Top Ten Lists" have became part of the rivalry, and the harsh truth is most of it has nothing to do with the football players. Most of them just want to get the game over with and go back to being normal friends. Most of what was said, has nothing to do with tonight's game it's garbage that is talked by their peers and fans who some are adults, which is just a shame. And that goes for both sides. With that said, I hope for an injury free game tonight and hope everyone enjoys the atmosphere.

Lol, I love this website. I never said anything about me being the best WR in the state did I. All I said was I had great hands, and anyone on here will vouch for that. I was a big, slow TE who could get open and catch the ball, that's it. If I would have had Chase Gibson's size, I coulda did something at the next level. As for Jeremiah, can't take anything away form that kid cause he was awesome in high school and was great at Georgetown.

When I mentioned where the Top 10 originated from that was really what I was trying to emphasize, but it really didn't come out the way that I intended.

:thatsfunn:thatsfunn That's in reply to the Mercedes and the school being named after him comment.
I knew that what you were trying to get at, but I just wanted to elaborate. I think sometimes the fans seem to get more caught up in the activities surrounding this game than the players do. Most of the players hang out with each other on weekends, being friends, they just want to play the game and go back to cheering for each other the following week.
