I think for the last few years the athletic director did the basketball schedule. The only thing JR does is show up and win.

They had these teams on the schedule and had to cancel because they had success in tournaments. Is that what you call "running"?
What benefit would it have for ANY team that thinks itself as a contender to win a title in ANY sport to play their toughest competition two weeks prior to a possibly matchup against them in a game that really counts anyway? That's a serious question to contemplate.
Clearly JRs intentions. Good point. If he doesn't have his men were he feels they need to be at this point in the season, a game against the Region favorite couldn't do anything beneficial for his team
