If the run the Boyle QB had at the end of the 1st half had not been called back, then Boyle would have had more yardage overall. The kid made a fantastic run of about 70+ yards and was brought down inside the 5.

Maybe if the player had not held the defender then the running back would have been tackled at the line of scrimmage. There are a lot of "ifs" in a football game but you have to accept the actual results.

Are 59 yards a BIG ADVANTAGE? Just wondering.
OK. Take out the the word "big". Point is that it was a pretty evenly played game. Boyle's key plays v. Lex. Catholic moving the ball somewhat better.

Regional finals? Easy there knighted... After last night's showing ie turnovers and int's, your offense needs some work.

Regardless... Another EPIC battle by these 2 great programs. I'm sure there will be more and next season. Till the 2015 season, where Lex Cath might, just maybe move down to3A cause of enrollment, but I really doubt that.

If they fall in 3A they will have to play there. KHSAA no longer allows any team playing up a class. I have heard talk that Boyle could also drop to 3A on the next realignment. Boyle graduated their biggest class ever and their numbers have dropped. All depends on where everyone else falls next alignment as Highlands is the smallest of all 4A schools and could also go down. It's going to be interesting.

Your absolutely correct sir, Highlands is at about 415's in boys enrollment and Lex Cath is at about 420's ( don't quote me though ). The line that draws the 4A to 3A is right about 390's. It is going to be interesting on the next realignment. Regardless of 3A or 4A, hope that Lex Cath and Boyle Co. ends up in the same district. Besides Saint X and Trinity... Boyle and Lex Cath IMO is one of the most entertaining rivalry left in the state. And I have only live here for 15 yrs.

Or....you could credit the Rebel defense. The Rebels had a good game plan defensively and executed it well. With that said, it is a long road to regionals and anything can happen.

In the red zone 4X. You have to execute and Lex Cath did not. Came away with zero in 3 of 4 trip in the so called red zone. Credit Boyle County defense? Sure I'll give them props, but for " knighted " to say regional final...They better fix and execution in the red zone and not come away empty handed.

Not making excuses but the flag wasn't thrown until the Boyle QB was 40 yds down the field.there may have been a hold but the flag was on the other side of the field and had no bearing on the play.but thats football.

I just watched the film again. The flag came out immediately when a Boyle player tackled the defender. The runner had just cleared the line of scrimmage when the ref through the flag. No matter Boyle still wins the game and deserved it. They were better prepared.

I was at the game and don't have the liberty of film to watch and i'm not sure how you do either unless you are a coach for Marion Boyle or LC.i guess though you could watch it on ihigh.which is what i'm gonna do in a few.from my point view the QB was along way down the field when the flag hit the ground and the flag was on the other side of the field away from the play.there may have been a hold i won't queston that but i don't think it had any bearing on the play.
10-07-2013, 08:37 PM
I watched this play on ihigh 6 times over.no LC player was tackled on the play the back judge had to have thrown this flag he's not in the picture.you can see the side judge and he threw no flag.either way it was a bad call.IMO you sir are the one thats incorrect.

I don't know what you are looking at, but I and several others have watched the tape on HUDL frame by frame. you can clearly see the back judge reach for the flag immediately and throw it just as the runner has cleared the line. The flag is laying on the ground by the time the runner has gone 10 yards. you can also clearly see the blocker pull the defender down, no bad call since it did have an impact on the play. Believe what you want to believe but I am not incorrect.

Guys... The game is over, Boyle County won. Move on!!! Get yourself ready for the rest of the district play and perhaps another showdown between you two in the 3rd round. Word of advised Lex Cath, got to do better and score when you make that trip in the red zone. CAN NOT come out empty and expect to beat Boyle Co. or better yet go deep in the playoffs.

It is going to be a great rematch in the playoffs!

Flag or no flag Boyle won and IMO they are the best team at this point.the only difference is if the flag had not been thrown the final score probably would have been 30 to 13.i'm done with this conversation but i'm sure we'll disagree on these two teams in the future.

Wow ease up killer. Maybe you are the idiot. I didn't say a negative thing about either QB. BTW, how do you know how qualified I am? I am not as qualified as those who evaluated Kyle but how do you know? I have nothing but respect for the young man and wish him nothing but the best.

This is a good example of overreaction.

As a spectator of the Boyle County/Lexington Catholic I noticed that BC had a lot of success out of the wishbone. I would hope to see more of that next game because LC had no answer for it. But then again, I am no coach.

Hey black&gold and Boyle Co fans for that matter. Don't mind hardly working ( whatever his name ). He is the village idiot. He is one reason why a lot schools tends to dislike private schools, especially Lex Cath. Peps like him tend to shoot his mouth off. Don't mind him, good luck the rest of the season and perhaps another showdown with Lex Cath 3 weeks in November:notworthy
