Raceland and Nicholas Co both begin district play this coming week. Nicholas has had a tough season, Raceland is coming of a near fall to Coal Grove and a loss to Lawrence Co. Raceland couldnt have gotten a break at a better time. Imo how the Rams come out and play this game will depict how the remainder of the season will go. If they dont come out like a scalded dog and put the Blue Jackets away early, playing hardnosed, smart, strong football, and come out flat, they will still probably win, but I am I am looking for them to start playig their own brand of football and not concern themselves with how good or bad the other team is. Still waiting for proof from Raceland. Show me I am wrong and u have the ability not to play down to ur opponent. Im goina say:
Raceland 60
Nicholas Co 8
Though it is a game Raceland is heavily favored in, how they come out intensity wise will say alot, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

I think this is probay Raceland's last gimme game, so the Rams need to come out strong, and score early and often. I hope they get one the gas pedal and don't let up until the game is over.

Stat-stuffer game, will be a running clock. The main thing is they don't get the big head because tougher games will come. There are no reasons this team doesn't have a chance to play in the state championship game. Fairview will give up points this year and can't just outscore us. Fairview was good last season and got blown out in the championship game. Can you imagine the celebration if this team won it? I'm glad LCA isn't a road block, but anything less than the carpet is a failure this year.
I wish Salmons would trust Elkins in this game coming up, let's see how much quicker plays are run on defenses that can't get set. I think it could take the team to another level if it is successful. Sometimes one doesn't want to give up anything, but this is the game to do it. amirite?

Agreed. Not taking anything away from or putting down, Nicholas, but they lost 55-0 to a West Carter team that Raceland had a running clock on mid second quarter in the grid-o-rama. Raceland SHOULD be able to take the first half and work on a few things, give Elkins a few plays in advance with a Run/Pass check down option, let him read the defense, if he doesnt fill confident, he can then look to the sideline. This offense has absolutely no rhythm or momentum. Simply because they are always waiting on the play. Weneed to go under center more and get some more physicality in the run game. Lineman are all looking for the pancake block and dont block past 2 or 3 yards.

The Rams took a few days off to rest. And take care of any nagging injuries. The RAMS should have fresh legs and mentally be ready for season II!
RAMS 58
N C. 6
JV players in half way through 2nd quarter!
