Corbin 53 South Laurel 0
#1
Domination tonight by the Hounds. The freshmen punched in two late 68 and 36 yard tds to end this one.

Hounds are off next week and gear up for a trip to Wayne County two fridays from now.

Corbin has outscored opponents this year 213-21 with the first team not giving up a single point. Danville scored against a mix of starters and reserves.

Shhh, nothing to see here folks. Move along, move along.

Corbin put them away early, wish South Laurel would have provided more of a challenge, they just don't have the horses right now.
#4
2 wins is better than most expected out of South. It is a long way from the basement but they are working their way out one step at a time. Hounds are very good.

Everyone keeps sweeping Corbin under the rug. I have been on here defending the hounds for three weeks. The redhounds are for real!! We get our first test in two weeks at Wayne. I would love to win that game but the big one will be in about eight weeks in the playoffs. I haven't wrote Bell off either they are still BELL CO. What a district who ever wins it will not come easy!! Three of the best teams in 3A!! Belfry and Central are probably 1-2 but we have got 3-4-5 right here in our district. Wayne and Bell lock up next Friday, let Wayne keep thinking they are way down. This is not the best Bell team but they are better then what people have been thinking. That was a short trip out of the mountain top 10 for Bell.

Corbin looks good......competition so far has been pretty weak. Will find out how good they are Oct.4th.

Bell is way better than ppl give credit... Like I said before Mboro and Corbin are extremely underrated... Look for both to make noise.. I look for Wayne to beat Corbin by maybe a td and bell I honestly dont think will beat corbin...

Corbin needs to work on the kicking game before it bites them. Will Canineu be able to play anymore this year? If not, maybe let Jackson kick again, he did well last year.

I agree about the kicking game. I suppose you're in good shape when that's the biggest black eye to your team but as you say, it could definitely sneak up and bite them in a game this year.

Sure, if it absolutely came down to it, I'd like Corbin's chances to line up and get 3 yards going for 2 but I'd be much more comfortable the PAT's. Jackson did a good job last year.

Ive been very impressed with Corbin thus far.
The right mix of players has finally come together for Corbin and they have a stellar defense. IMHO, Corbin could go 10-0. Every week I see that team get a little more confidence and I think Bell will not provide a challenge for them. Wayne is the only real test Corbin will face until the playoffs. I wish it was later in the year, but its next week.Wayne will have the advantage being at home, but im picking the hounds.
10-0 and will battle Wayne again in the region championship.

Lou Cent may have something to say about that rematch.

One would think, but there not the same team they have been.
I stand by my statement.

They play a harder sched than corbin and wayne combined. They always have that thing called SPEED and are very good.

Central will have to play both unless Bell knocks corbin or wayne off

Im not disagreeing that Central is still very good, i just think the playing field has been equaled a bit.
Central is not as good as they have been and Wayne, along with Corbin are much improved. Should be a fun region to watch come playoff time.
#15
Central will be a test for anybody and I agree with all you say. However, I do realize that Corbin's schedule has been much weaker than it was thought to have been. Despite that, Corbin has did exactly what good teams are supposed to do. That is destroyed each team they play.

McCreary and Casey Co will be games that Corbin will dominate but the proof will be in the Wayne, Bell, and Knox Central games. I honestly think that Corbin wins all 3 of those. What has surprised me about Corbin is that not only are they strong, physical, and deep, they are fast as any Corbin team that I remember. Coppock and Waddle may not win any 40 contests but their quickness, shiftiness, and stride are unbelievable.
#16
Keep working hard at practice, Hounds!

Sometimes, too many cupcakes can be bad for you.
#17
Waddle is faster than he is given credit for. Coppock is just a good solid back. Big improvement on speed on defense this year. They are much quicker.
