Rumor has it that the Pikeville catching position is up for grabs-- Who do you think should be the catcher? Miller or Adams?
IMO I think Miller would be the better one. What is everyone else's opinion?

well considering Adams was the starter last year i would go with him...he has a great shot down to second
even tho miller is a good cather also, adams did throw it down to second in 1.66 seconds last year (thats major league time)
Miller is a great DH however...look for good things coming from him while at the plate and on the mound or in the outfield
he can doo it all
Adams can only catch...but he is good at what he does best!

Teams can give up one spot in the order for a defensive player that can't hit, but two hurts your team.
If Pikeville had a shortstop that could hit I would go with Adams behind the plate.

What's wrong with Hamilton's batting? I heard Adam's has gotten a lot better at batting during fall ball..but we will just have to wait and see!

Yeah...rumor has it that Adams batted real well in fall ball last year...but being allowed to have a DH I will say that Adams will still be behind the plate 90% of the time. If Adams doesn't produce then you will see Miller DH for him....but Miller will still get time pitching and maybe some in the out field....just depends on how everything works out

Good glove, needs to be a great bunter. That's what I would do with him if I couldn't DH for him.
Just my opinion.

has adams realy had a home to second throw time of 1.6???
02-24-2005, 03:48 PM
yes he has...it was a 1.66 shot down to second base last season
simply amazing....although he hasnt quite got back down to that time any time lately

Pop time of 1.66 was a fluke...Plain and simple. Josh is the starter and should be. His average pop time is between 1.8-2.0, which is college level.
The 1.66 pop time was probably because of human error. We time Josh with a stopwatch in the dugout...

Yea i would say that 1.66 is not true. But, 1.8 or 2.0 is very good as well.

well i was just going by what the stopwatch read by the coaches but you are probably right, some human error probably played a role in that time...
but he is a very consitent cather
miller makes for a decent outfielder and a good relief pitcher...not to mention he can hit the ball well as a DH

so its not true???

well last season a coach did time him at 1.66 but it probably wasnt exaclty right...it was more about lik 1.8
but thats still great
but thats still great

With Adams starting to hit the ball very hard its hard not to put him behind the plate. HIs Average pop time now is between 1.9- 2.1 which is very solid. Miller his greatly improved in the batters box since last season. Unless Corey Hamilton Steps up on the offensive side it will be tough to keep miller out of the lineup.

Miller has to be in the lineup, some way or another, he will end up in it...IMO

josh adams is clearly the better catcher than miller
