Great win for Holmes

NCC did not play well tonight (except for McDonald who had a great game). Holmes has a very good guard in Bolden and did very well outrebounding a taller NCC team. I feel if Holmes makes it to Rupp that they may be to much off a one man team to advance very far. Looking forward to a probable Holmes/CovCath rematch.

I did not see tonight's game but have seen Holmes play about 8 times this year. While the offense definitely goes through Bolden, Holmes has other scoring options late in the game, notably Palmer, who can both attack the rim and shoot the 3. Holmes' game works best if they can grab a lead in the fourth quarter and force the other team to foul while the guards control the ball. In the Bulldogs' two losses -- one in double OT and the other on the 60-foot buzzer-beater -- they twice rallied from around 15 points down late in the third quarter to actually take the lead late in both games. Tonight, they didn't get 15 down in the third quarter. They do, though, need to shoot FTs better than they did tonight.
I also envision a third-game tie-breaker vs. CovCath on Sunday. Could be a dandy, but both teams face quality competition in the semis.

If Holmes makes it to Rupp, they could be a very dangerous team.

I do think he out coached the NCC coach in this game. I think NCC might have better overall talent than Holmes, but coaching goes to Holmes.
