Cadiz, KY (AP) -- Two people were killed and three others were injured early Thursday when a fishing boat rammed into a rock wall on Lake Barkley in southwestern Kentucky, police said.
Kentucky State Police spokesman Barry Meadows said it happened at 3:20 a.m. CDT about a half mile from the Lake Barkley State Park marina in Trigg County. The boat was carrying five people when it hit the wall.
Trigg County coroner John Vinson identified one of the dead as Johnna Snow, 37, of Paducah. The name of the man killed in the crash hasn't yet been released.
One person was in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., Meadows said, and another was taken to a hospital in Paducah. The other was treated and released at the Trigg County Hospital, he said.
The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is investigating with assistance from the Kentucky State Police.
The victims' names weren't immediately being released.
Meadows said it isn't clear if the group was fishing at the time. Investigators plan to look at how fast the boat was going when it hit the wall.
"It's pretty uncommon to hit a rock wall like that," Meadows said.

Yes there has been. We spend a lot of time on the water and you can never let your guard down...All too quickly a fun day on the water can turn into a tragedy.
