A lot of wacky talk is making the rounds now that Noel is out.
Gloom and doom UK fans already have us in the NIT, and a
bunch of talking head types are piling on too. But as of
today, the Wildcats are firmly in the NCAA. If the field
were set this afternoon, UK would be in with no worries.
That being said however, the potential for a move in either
direction exists. If the Cats respond poorly to the loss of Noel,
and fall apart, of course they can play themselves out.
Another home loss to anyone but the Gators makes it
dicey, and if they don't get one of the three left on the road,
that will make it tight too. But if they respond positively,
with a little "rally around boys", there's no reason to expect
that they won't get the 3 other home wins and pick off one
of the 3 road games left, and probably get an SEC tntm.
win. Which would leave them comfortably in just as they
are today.

I think we make it pretty easily. If we win the games we're supposed to, we'll be fine.

I sure hope you're right. My main concern is without Noel it basically leaves interior defense to Big Willie. Although I think Stein will be a really good player one day, he AINT swattin like Nerlens. Who backs up Stein? If defense is now suspect, would we expect this offense to carry the team? Just don't see it. Cats are in now, but seems trouble lies ahead.

Im not sure we'll be in the NIT now....

My biggest concern is interior depth. WC-S is a foul machine.

Said it a dozen times already, beat Vandy Mizzou and MSU, and get one of 3
on the road, and they're IN.

So if UT beat UK today and does so in a somewhat dominant matter, are you still going to say they are a sure in? That would be the worst comment ever made on this site.
Let me rephrase, biggest HOMER comment ever.
This team is horrible, thats as nice as i can put it.

AGAIN DIMWIT, learn to READ. A bad loss at UT certainly would
be hurtful to the chances. Never said it wouldn't. My every comment
on this subject has stated that what is yet to come, WILL
bear on getting in or being left out. What I keep trying to point out
and you can't wrap your brain around is, that losing Noel
did NOT eliminate them from the NCAA and going in to today
they have a bid. Play badly enough from here on out, and
YES they lose the bid.

1.) Dont break the rules again. Your immature name calling will get you in trouble, especially since ive seen you do it several times.
2.) Whats the score of today's game master?
Theres nothing wrong with admitting your wrong, as you should do.

they WILL NOT,make the ncaa if they don't get any better than today, and it sounds there a lot of trouble on this team...

If Kentucky wants to make the NCAA their gonna have to play better than what they are today...They are just flat out getting embarrassed

What am I supposed to admit being wrong about? YOU were the
one who incorrectly claimed I said today's game made no difference,
or that they had no danger of missing the NCAA at all. My post,
as I pointed out NUMEROUS times, in more than one thread,
was about the situation as it existed ENTERING TODAY'S GAME. And, MULTIPLE times, I also said if they responded negatively to losing Noel,
they could play themselves right out of a bid. What you never seemed to
get was, that I was addressing the sentiment that UK was already
doomed and out of the tournament because Noel was gone.
In fact, even now, I would STILL expect them to get in the NCAA
if they won 3 more home games and one on the road. But because
of what they showed today, I don't think they can do that.
It would require much more grit and fight than they displayed

One announcer said this might the worst defeat in NCAA history by a defending champion.

Wow what a statement!! I guess that means it might not be one of the worst. Who was the genius that said this?

I dont know what the record is, but Louisville won it in '86 and lost to UK by 34 the next season (85-51, Rex Chapman's freshman year. However UK would also lose to LSU 76-41 at Rupp just a few weeks later). I remember watching that game. UL went up 4-0 and then UK hit 11-16 from 3 point range and absolutely mauled the Cards..However, to Louisville's credit, as bad as they got hammered that game, they still played better than UK did today lol..
