Pikeville 64 Pike Central 56
#1
Final from TW Oliver.

PHS improves to 18-9 on the year and extends the winning streak over Pike Central to 9 games. Last Hawk win came in Feb. of 2007.

Ethan Rowe leads the way with 24 pts. Ray Kasongo follows with 18 pts, 11 rebs, 5 blocks, and a ridiculous put back jam. Jacob Hamilton adds 10, Silvers 6, Johnson 4, May 2.

Ethan Blackburn and Mac Justice had nice games for PC, Blackburn with 18 and Justice with 15, I believe.

Pikeville will return to action Monday at Magoffin County.

Good week, 4 wins (3 over rivals, 2 over PC) in 6 days!

HAIL PIKEVILLE!

Sounds like Pikeville is peaking at the right time.

Another good win

Pike Central is one of the most disappointing teams in the region. Have they beat anyone with a winning record?

They are still young and have a ton of talent coming from Mullins and Johns Creek, in a couple years they will be hard to handle...

Problem with that excuse.

These kids played the majority of minutes last year. They are just a notch under Lawrence Co. talent wise yet are not even on the same level in improvement.

They have beat Belfry and? Their schedule is about ridiculous, looks like Coach Clay Campbell helped Coach Carwile.

Agree. Don't use the excuse that they are young. Every team in the region is young this year. It gets old always hearing that a team is young.

A lot of the teams in the region are young and this late in the seaon it's probably not a good idea to continue to use that excuse. Pike Central's schedule has not been stellar but they have improved from 6 wins last year to 12 as of this writing. They have played Pikeville tough twice, but lost. Lost to Betsy Layne at B.l. another close game. Lost to East Ridge at East Ridge in a close game. Bottom line is this, if they hit their free throws in some of these games, they win. They need a consistant outside shooter/shooters to go with their inside game and must get better at shooting free throws to get to the next level. We'll see how this season finishes out and what happens next year.
