NCAA screws up again, this time hurting themselves
#1
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The NCAA said Wednesday its enforcement staff worked with the defense attorney for former Miami booster Nevin Shapiro to improperly obtain information through a bankruptcy proceeding that did not involve the sports governing body.

Miami and some of its former employees like Mizzou head coach Frank Haith and Louisville football assistant Clint Hurtt are being investigated for unethical conduct, failure to promote an atmosphere of compliance, and other charges.

To sum it up, this investigation is now a mess, and coming after the Shabazz Muhammad debacle and Penn State mess, the NCAA's credibility took a hard nose dive

Remember, their is no such things as an NCAA. The NCAA has no decision authority, it is the schools and the conferences. The Enforcement committee is represented by the following schools:

Gregory Sankey, SEC – Associate commissioner
Britton Banowsky, Conference-USA – Commissioner

Melissa L. Conboy, Notre Dame

James O’Fallon, Oregon
Rodney Uphoff, Missouri
Greg Christopher, Bowling Green

Eleanor W. Myers, Temple

^ LOL, there is NO SUCH THING as the NCAA!!!! It's fair to say the colleges can't handle their stuff, but to call it the NCAA and think it is some 3rd party organization is completely inaccurate! Every decision or ruling that comes from the banner of the NCAA was all based on what the colleges decide. The NCAA has zero ruling power!

^ actually in investigations into other schools, the NCAA has a full time legal staff that handles those matters, as well as amateurism, recruiting, and drug/ alcohol policies. The NCAA itself is made up of school representatives, but the one's that handle enforcement and investigations are unaffiliated with any school. Now when that group screws up, like here, the NCAA puts a committee together made of school officials to investigate them. The only thing those groups can't do are vote on bylaws. Balance of power.

So when I say the NCAA screws up, I'm talking about the group that's not affiliated with any school. These are the same people that screwed up the Shabazz Muhammad situation and the same group that mishandled information from Penn State. Unfortunately, there are a few investigators in that group with a clouded agenda
