It hurt Whitley bad to have Craig out with a broken hand. Arthur did anything she wanted underneath the goal without a "Big" to stop her. Whitley also, had one of their better guards out with an ankle injury. Things should get better when these two girls return. Till then things could get rough.....:Sad04:

It's a great district this year and sad that either corbin, whitley, or SL will not make region. It will be a fun district tournament.

Until Craig returns, Whitley will have trouble stopping teams with post players as good as Arthur.
Dont let the score mislead you, with Craig, this was a 20 point win for Whitley a month ago.

A month ago we were talking about Arthur having a big game in Whitley's win. She had 23 the first time, I think.

Yes and Craig was returning from an achilles injury and played less than 2 quarters total and only came in when needed.

No doubt Craig would make a difference, but the reason South won this game was defense. Held Whitley to 12 or 14 at the half and Smith to 0 at the half.

I agree their defense was tough, but having a 25-11 rebounding advantage at the half, and only getting worse as the game progressed didn't hurt things either. Smith didn't play like Smith for some reason....her shot was just off for most of the game. I am not taking anything away from South....they knew what they needed to do in order to win....and they did it. Kudos to them! :Cheerlead

The winner of the upcoming Corbin and Whitley game will get the all important #1 seed in the district tourney. The loser will have to play South in the first round.

South did not double team Smith if that is what you were saying. She didn't have a great night shooting, but I would argue that South gets some credit for that.
