Good road win for Perry Central.

^really!!! If they r gonna compete for the 14th region they will have to get much better than what they r right now!!!! They've got a long way to go!!!! Congrats Dores, keep working!!!!

What else can they do? They just went on the road, to a tough place to win and one of the better teams in the 5th region, with 5th region officials, some of the biggest homers on earth, and got a win. You have to be a good team to do that.

I agree with daredevil4life. This game would have been a tough one for any 14th region team to win. I still think Hazard and Knott are the two best in the region as of now, but the Johnson kid at Perry may change that. Anyone know if/when he will be able to play?
12-22-2012, 02:21 PM
Perry Central is in good shape, like the others have said Central Hardin is a very difficult place to go and play, they are no cake walk. Braxton had 21 and Cornett added 18. If Johnson played he didn't score with him not being in the score line in the hearld leader, I don't think he's allowed to play yet

Congrats to PCC

Tough place to play?
John Hardin just waxed Central Hardin AT Central Hardin 10 days/2 games earlier, 75-56.
Central Hardin lost three times at home before Jan. 11 last season. Lost four home games in 10-11 season.
As far as top teams in the 5th Region, according to who? John Hardin, Bardstown, Bethlehem, North Hardin, LaRue County, Elizabethtown are the top teams according to most accounts. And the ONLY team Central Hardin has beaten of those six is the last one listed -- Elizabethtown (which led Central Hardin in the fourth quarter).

You do know that going out of region teams aren't gonna get the same calls? Now, I wasn't at the game so I don't know how many fouls were called but usually when region teams go to other region team's house the calls are a lot different.

Non-5th Region Teams who have beaten Central Hardin at Central Hardin
TEAM (RECORD).....SEASON....SCORE
Perry County Central (7-1).....12-13.....59-58
Grayson County (25-7).....11-12.....57-52
Collins (18-12).....10-11.....49-45
Boone County (19-9).....09-10.....67-42
Grayson County (17-9).....09-10.....47-41
Greenwood (21-9).....09-10.....51-34
Muhlenberg North (23-6).....08-09.....66-62
Franklin County (20-10).....07-08.....61-54
Facts:
- Central Hardin has lost at least one non-region home game in six straight seasons
- The teams that went there and won are all solid. Previous seven before PCC all finished with at LEAST 17 wins. All were at least SIX games over .500
- The list of teams, since 07-08, that have lost non-region road games to Central Hardin is far LESS impressive than the teams that have won there. Teams CH has beat at home are Grayson County (25-7), St. Henry (12-14), St. Xavier (23-9), Breckinridge County (19-7), Meade County (7-19), Breckinridge County (9-19), Nicholas County (3-21), Whitefield Academy (6-20), Meade County (20-8)
- Only four teams with winning records have lost a non-region game at Central Hardin in the last six years
- Teams which finished 17 or more wins are 8-4 in non-region games at Central Hardin in the last six years (Basically if you're a district out-of-town team playing at Central, you've got a 66.6 percent chance of winning)
- Central Hardin is just 9-8 in non-region home games in the last six years
If you had mentioned Bardstown, John Hardin, North Hardin (Warren Central, Manual, Lafayette, Fairdale have all gone there and lost) as hard places to win at in the 5th Region, I would have EASILY agreed.

Johnson should be elgiable to play the 27th so that means the Republican bank classic they thought he would be elgible against Central Hardin but he wasnt but the deadline is the 26th for the commisioner to sign off on. Thats what I was told friday at Perry,Cent.

I wasn't being disrespectful!!! I just stated the fact that at this point they must get a lot better to compete w/ KCC, HHS and a couple other teams to have a shot at this region. No disrespect to Central Hardin but I don't think this would b a signature win by any means. A win is a win though. Let's just hope they continue getting better!!!!

You got to be kidding. Knott or hazard is any better than perry at this point. Heck cordia even played knott close on their home court. Give me a break by saying perry has to get a lot better to compete in the 14th!!! Hog wash!!
12-23-2012, 09:07 AM
Knott,Cent at this point is the best team by a little, Hazard is a very close second but the loss of the Hollan kid hurts them a lot and he will not be 100% probably the rest of the year. Perry is third right now but with the Johnson kid that puts them up close to the front. Knott will peak before Hazard and Perry does because they dont have any football players on their team and Hazard and Perry will peak later in the season. The regionals at Letcher,Cent and Cordia will if they get the 2 kids elgiable be a very hard out also Letcher and breathitt will be capable and the other district Estill,Owsley Leee and Powell are out of the picture.
12-23-2012, 09:48 AM
Powell and Estill have made it to the semis in the last 2 regions. I would like to see a
56th district team make the finals this year, preferably the Owsley County Owls. The gap is not as big as you think and will continue to shrink as the season goes along.

Estill is struggling right now at 4-7. They lost by 12 to Wolfe County at Wolfe, a team that Lee County beat at Wolfe, a Lee County team that Estill beat at Lee. Then on Friday Estill lost by 12 to a 2-win Bell County team then on Saturday, Estill lost by 1 to a 1-win Garrard County team a team that lost by 29 to Rockcastle County, a Rockcastle County team that Estill beat by 15 earlier in the year -___- Now Estill travels to Virginia next week to compete in the Alpha Classic at UVA-Wise. They open up with Christiansburg VA, a team that according to Maxpreps only had 2 losses last year and was ranked in Virginia's Top 25 but Christiansburg has yet to win a single game this year according to maxpreps. Then they will either play Central VA or Shenandoph Valley Christian (SP?) KHSAA has Letcher playing Central but that's wrong, Letcher plays Union

Congrats Perry a 7-1 record is a very good start for anyone. I have watched all the contending teams. Perry is competitive with any of them. Their schedule has been tougher than the others. Help is on the way. The WYMT is only a couple of weeks away a lot of questions will be answered. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

IMO, i think KCC and HHS is ahead of them at this point in the season. I didnt say PCC was at the bottom of the region, i didnt say PCC wouldnt get there. I think PCC can get there but they aint there yet.

What are you talking about? The gap is HUGE from Owsley to the top of the region and they arent getting any closer. The only good team they have played in the region so far is Hazard. They have been beat by 36 and 29. Not trying to put you down because I know you want to support your team, but you have to look at things without the glasses on and have some realistic thoughts.

On the 27th of DEC. the regional will chnge with the emergence of Justin Johnson at Perry,Cent. They may not look good at first but by tournament time this team could be as talented as last years team and they will go further this time guranteed.

^Hope he does become eligible. Same date for Owootoah and King at Cordia. I wish well to all three of these young men. They can flat out play

Anything is possible during the tournament. However the 56th is not the strongest district this year.

2012 14th Region first round Powell 68 Letcher County Central 57 semis Buckhorn 67 Powell 51 2011 14th Region first round Estill County 73 Breathitt County 66 semis Knott County Central 47 Estill County 39 Two years in a row the 56th made it to the semis so why can't they make it to the finals this year

The luck of the draw can get anyone out of the first round. For a 56th district team to get to the finals of the region, they would have to beat either Perry, Hazard, or Knott (as long as Hazard and Perry dont draw each other first round in the district then they would possibly just face one of them). I know upsets can happen, but the 56th imo is worse this year than it has been the past few years.
I understand you having hope for your team/district but..........its not gonna happen. I would make any bet in the world that a 56th district team doesnt make the finals.
