Ken-Jah Bosley of Madison Central is certainly upgrading his personal resume in the 32nd annual Canfield Development King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic basketball tournament.

Bosley, a 6-foot-1 senior guard, hit 18 of 24 free throws and scored 40 points as Madison Central, which trailed by 15 points early in the third quarter, rallied to beat Fairdale 87-86 in overtime in a quarterfinal contest before a packed house at Fairdale on Friday night.

Bosley, whose clutch shooting pushed the Indians (8-2) past St. Xavier 79-76 in a first-round game Wednesday, hit 5 of 7 foul shots in the final 27.2 seconds of regulation. Fairdale led 75-70 before the Bulldogs' Caleb Longacre fouled Bosley on a 3-point shot. Bosley sank 2 of 3 free throws for the personal foul and 1 of 2 shots for a technical foul on Longacre, who vocally disputed the personal foul.

"I was short on a few (free throws), which meant I didn't have my legs, but I pushed through it when I knew I had to make them," Bosley said.

For the game, Bosley hit 9 of 21 shots, including 4 of 11 threes.

Bosley's running mate at guard, Dominique Hawkins, scored 26 points before fouling out with 1:18 left in regulation. The win moved Madison Central into tonight's 7:30 semifinal against Ballard, which rode a strong second half to beat Hopkinsville 92-69.

"I have two really good guards,'' Madison Central coach Allen Feldhaus Jr. said. "Hawkins fouled out for the second straight game, but somehow we won the basketball game. Once we got into overtime, we had all the momentum and I told the kids, 'Let's ride it home.' "

Madison Central, ranked No. 4 in the state coaches' preseason poll, led 79-76, 81-77 and 85-80 in overtime. Fairdale (6-2) pulled within 81-80, 85-83 and 87-86 on threes by Jose Payne. Payne led Fairdale with 25 points, hitting 9 of 16 shots. Cory Thomas and Darren Lowrey each added 19 points, with Lowrey grabbing 15 rebounds.
