Coach: Jason Booher (225-88 in 11 years overall)
Last year: 23-7 (District champion, regional first-round loser to Boone County)
Whatâs new: The inaugural Stop DWI Classic at Holmes debuts with Scott, Harrison County and Russell County being the first-year participants.
Key players: Senior guard DaQuan Palmer, senior guard B.J. Coston, senior center Chris Englemon
Outlook: The perennially strong Bulldogs are talented and ready to defend their district title, which they have owned since 2008. Palmer and Coston create havoc on offense and defense. Englemon (6.0 rpg) is hard to stop in the paint. Sophomore James Bolden has the potential to be the best in his class, and the Bulldogs have added a pair of Holy Cross transfers, juniors Quinton Chames and Zach Pouncy. âOur strengths are team depth, quickness and 3-point shooting,â coach Booher said. âWe also have a talented incoming freshman class, which won the KBA middle school state championship last year.â
