Powell Co. was a much better team than our players gave them credit for. (We knew they would be a good team.) Homecoming festivities didn't help us either as their focus was lost. But a win is a win. Powell is going to give someone fits in the playoffs. They played well.

Down 35-28 late in the fourth quarter, Bath County staged a drive to send the hosts home happy.
With less than 21/2 minutes remaining, Wildcats junior running back Curran Shrout found the end zone for the second time on the night, scoring from 2 yards out to pull the Wildcats within one point of the visiting Pirates.
Bath County opted to go for the win instead of the tie, and Shrout hit pay dirt once again for the game-winning two-point conversion.
