BGR Regional Power Rankings- Louisville Metro
#1
BGR continues to try and be the fore-runner for High School Football Discussion throughout the State of Kentucky. With this in mind, we are unveiling a new feature updated weekly to better serve all areas of the State from Pikeville to Paducah and elicit more discussion in the process.

These are the inaugural Bluegrass Rivals Regional Power Rankings!

We will rank the Top 5 in each region of the stat, based on a "pound for pound" basis. We will take into account Strength of Schedule, margin of victory/defeat, magnitude of games, and come to a conclusion.

Rankings are meant for discussion, and your feedback is what we want to hear whether you agree or not. Make your case for your team!

LOU METRO
1. Trinity- This one ain't close. The Rocks have transcended KY football and are undefeated against some of the best teams in America.

2. Central- Yellowjackets have taken playing up to new levels defeating very good 6A Manual, 6A Ballard, and Evansville (IN) Reitz. They won convincingly against 4A Western and beat a solid 2A DeSales.

3. John Hardin- Bulldogs only knock is they have not played up as much as Central. Very good wins against 6A Henry Clay and 6A Meade County, they also made short work of traditional power 4A Boyle County.

4. St. X- X has high expectations as one of the "Have's" of KY football. Their schedule is certainly nowhere near that of rival trinity, and their loss to 5A Bowling Green knocks them down the list of a very strong region.

5. PRP- The Panthers are undefeated against a somewhat lax schedule of some of the weaker Louisville big schools. Manual is certainly a quality win though.

Thanks for doing this, I think it is a great idea.

I think the list looks pretty good. Just wondering, what do you consider Louisville Metro area?
#3
We are using Jefferson County and any County that directly borders it, also Hardin County/Etown and Nelson County/Bardstown.

I have had Central at #2 in the top ten I created ( which only included Jefferson co , ) but after further consideration even as part of "jacket- nation")we cannot be put there unless we beat St X. St X probably also belongs in front of John Hardin as well.

Some other question to debate:

- Where does Eastern fall in the pecking order? What will it take for them to jump into the Top 5?

- Aside from John Hardin, how would you rank the non-Jefferson County teams? Would Collins lead the pack, or would Bardstown or one of the Oldham County schools take that distinction.

- How far is DeSales from being the best small school in Louisville Metro if they are not there already?

Eastern is probably just outside the top 5 right now, but a win over Male would likely put them in over PRP.

Aside from John Hardin, I'd say Collins is the top non-Jefferson County team, however John Hardin is much better than the rest. North Oldham and Bardstown both have good records but weak schedules and South Oldham lost 27-0 to Meade County, a team that Collins beat on the road.

I don't know if DeSales is the best small school in the Louisville area, but they are one of the best along with Bardstown and CAL.

Best small school might be KCD.Christian Academy (CAL) is very good too. Their coach is my 2nd favorite UL player of all time.
