How about a constant upgrade in recruits, the most hyped QB to come along since Couch, and what seems to be a much better Defense. maybe we can all wait until the Louisville game or at least fall camp to start before all the shit talk.

Please explain to me where the upgrade in recruits are? Were signing the same type of players we always have, actually with Joker, a little worse.
How is Towles hyped as much as Couch? Couch was hyped more than any other QB ever seen at UK. He was seen as the golden child coming in to UK. Dont get me wrong, i think Towles is a good QB and should polly deserve to start over the jokes we have now, but really? Cmon, Couch was the end all be all. I honestly believe Lorenzen was even a more highly touted recruit then anyone weve had since then.
We can wait until the Lville game where we will get smoked. Mr Strong and company have put together a decent little team over there and we havent. Im a realist, not a dreamer.

Clearly you are not a realist If you actually think that it will ever get better, that is the dreamer talk. UK doesn't care about football and it never will. We have had 3 straight good recruiting class by our standards and a good D already in place you will be mighty surprised this year at how they do. Wait to see them play before you put them down.

Question 3. what kind of bear is best?
I read last week in the Parkersburg, WV paper that Parkersburg South's QB Tyler Bolen was MVP at a camp in Lexington and was rated higher than either UK Freshmen QB. He could very well be the best HS qb WV has produced since JR House.

House was over rated

Wow...surprised at the stupidity and hate coming from quite a few members that I wouldn't expect that to come from.
#1...so far in training camp, Newton has put every other QB to shame. Max Smith has had a hard time hitting WR's. Towles has had a horrible time with taking pressure.
#2...How many of you have paid ANY attention to the program so far? If you had, you'd know better to say something as stupid as playing Towels over Newton, or even Smith.
#3...even with your hate of the head coach, why so negative about the team? We CAN beat Louisville, and will beat Kent St and WKU. We could beat USC, in Lexington, where we'll be in our black out uniforms and all the hype our fans get going about that. We can beat MSU, again in Lexington. We could beat UGA in Lex, even though the odds will be against us, we've done it before. We can beat an overconfident Mizzou team at home, especially if we're as physical as we're capable of being. We WILL beat Vandy and Samford. And finally, we can beat Tennessee. If we have a medium passing game where Newton can take the snap, drop back and scan his WR's, then put the ball on target...whether it's a bit high or outside or inside, our wide outs can make this catches. This isn't 2011.
Solid defense with one of the best D line's in the conference, go-to impact player such as Martavious Neloms, Avery Williams, and Le'Rod King...a deep RB corps which not only includes veteran Coshik Williams, but strong, hard-nosed back Raymond Sanders, super-quick back Josh Clemons, and the new rookie who has been praised by MANY for his speed AND strength and who the coaching staff says could break alot of records before he lives Kentucky, Dyshawn Mobley. Not to mention our WR and TE Corps, especially the TE's, who include 3 upperclassman who have all started multiple games, let by Tyler Robinson.
Another playmaker at WR/HB/Slot receiver/Jet back/kick & punt returner is DeMarco Robinson...who can do many, many things.
So why all the hate? Alot of people, and quite a few on this board, are going to be surprised come Sep 1 and the rest of the season.
My Prediction for the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats:
09/02--at Louisville (W)
09/08--vs. Kent State (W)
09/15--vs. Western Kentucky (W)
09/22--at Florida (W)
09/29--vs. South Carolina (L)
10/06--vs. Mississippi State (W)
10/13--at Arkansas (L)
10/20--Georgia (L)
10/27--at Mizzou (W)
11/04--Vandy (W)
11/17--Samford (W)
11/24--at Tennessee (L)
Take it how you want it, but this is how I sincerely believe this season will turn out. Not because of the head coach, because of the assistants and the players will.

They are more than capable of beating doing what Vundy said. If the team stays intact and there are no major injuries they will be as good as the Rich Brooks era teams. All they need is some offense.
BTW it is funny that all these guys are saying newton is terrible, it isn't his fault that his receivers couldnt catch the clap in a vietnamise flop house last year. These are the same guys that sang his praises over hartline when we beat auburn and georgia in the same year on the road. Now he has a bad year and he sucks? The kid is playing major college football clearly he would not be there if he wasn't a good qb. We have a great QB coach who worked with some unknown guys like Peyton Friggen Manning. If he is starting next year don't be surprised. And don't be surprised if he has a breakout year and ends up in the NFL.

Max Smith has NFL first round draft pick arm talent! Max Smith done pretty good last year for a freshmen threw into the fire. He is hands down UK's QB barring injury. Max smith will be a great SEC quarterback his junior and senior years. Towles needs to redshirt so he can do the same his junior and senior years. Newton will be good this year and I would say we will see him in alot of wildcat looks because of his size and speed.

they literally beat the dog piss out of us every year.
We can play the Patriots and they wouldn't beat us as bad as Florida does.

If Vundy's predictions come true I will burn every couch I see.
I can't make my mind up about QB. NCAA 13 can't either, Max is an 81 and Newton is an 80 lol. I'm just going to trust whoever they put out there, the competition should breed some good results.

Quality Depth at every postion. Our starting Off/Def/Spc. Teams are equal, but when you can put in your 2nd and 3rd string Linemen/RB's/WR's/TE's/QB and be just as good as your first team, it's hard to compete with that.
A team of 5 star players as compared to a team of 3 star players....
Florida is a football school; UK is a basketball school. We have Rupp; Florida has the Swamp.
I've been a season UK football ticket holder for 6 years now. And nobody wants to see UK beat Florida worse than me. Heck, I'll probably be the first person trying to tear down the goal post when we do beat them. But it's gonna take several wildcats having career days all together and Florida playing pretty bad all at the same time for us to beat them.
We can play ball with them... we just need a few lucky bounces, maybe our D steps up big like they did against LSU in '07.... Maybe our offense pulls a trick out their hat like they did against Tennessee last season.... We can beat Florida!

Max Smith Threw 4 INTs last year 2 vs SC and 2 vs UGA both were very good defensive teams. He played in 7 games last season with 153 passing ATTs. as a grey shirt Freshmen. I think you have him confused with someone else. Did you actually watch him play last season? He showed a nice zip on the ball and stood in the pocket and took some hits.
