Kentucky senior third baseman Thomas McCarthy – a 2011 first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection – has been picked by the Chicago White Sox in the 18th round of the 2012 MLB Draft, going No. 561 overall, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
