Amile Jefferson to Duke
#1
Not a surprise here
#2
Too bad for the kid. he could have come to Uk and played for an NCAA contender.
#3
No surprise.
Coach Gay always buys one decent player a year.

I wish him well, even though he's going to dUKe. I just don't see this kid being a great fit for Coach K's system though. I could be wrong, but I do wish him all the best.

The list of possible additions to next season's Kentucky basketball team was whittled further Tuesday with Amile Jefferson's announcement that he would play for Duke.

Jefferson, a 6-foot-7 forward from Philadelphia, picked the Blue Devils over UK, North Carolina State, Ohio State and hometown Villanova.

Jefferson is rated in the Top 25 by Scout.com, ESPN and MaxPreps. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 36 recruit in the class of 2012.

He pointed to the immediate availability of playing time as one reason for his decision.

"Right now, I don't think they have a player at my position," he said. "I don't think they have a guy like me."

Freshman Alex Poythress and sophomore Kyle Wiltjer are projected to start at forward for Kentucky next season.

UK's attention could now turn to Montrezl Harrell, a 6-foot-7 forward who played his final year of high school last season at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.

Harrell had signed with Virginia Tech, but he asked for a release from his letter of intent after the firing of head coach Seth Greenberg. New coach James Johnson implied over the weekend that he would grant that release, but the player's father told 24/7 Sports that the school had not done so as of Monday night.

Virginia Tech is still expected to release Harrell from the letter, and Kentucky will likely be among the teams to contact him once he becomes an uncommitted recruit.

Harrell is a Top 100-rated player in the class of 2012 by Rivals (No. 82), Scout (No. 72) and ESPN (No. 89).

On Monday night, one-time UK target Mislav Brzoja committed to Northwestern. Brzoja visited Kentucky last month and worked out with several UK players, but he was not offered a scholarship.

The commitment of Wright State transfer Julius Mays on Sunday all but ended the possibility that Brzoja would join the Wildcats.

Bow to the Cats if you want, it's a nice show of respect to your betters afterall.

Every time UK loses a recruit:

"it doesn't matter. We didn't need him anyways." hilarious.

^ I hate you but I agree lol

Smart move going to Duke.

I don't think his game will fit into the white boy offense very well...kind of the same way Rivers' game didn't fit in, at all.

^ I'm not so sure about that, Irving's game did, and did quite well! dUKe was on their way to a championship with Irving leading the way until he got hurt.

Now that's one of the best ones I've heard in a while. Did you
hear the one about the guy that walked in to the bar?

I refuse to respond to anything that our little friend has to say...

so I will just tell you that I agree.

When Irving was playing at Duke at the start of that season they were without-a-doubt the best team in the land.

Prior to Irving's injury, was the last time Duke could be rated a solid, legit
top 10 team. They were still overated, and their laughable frontcourt game
argued against them being a real threat to win a title. They would have had to get another NCAA gift draw, and still relied on some better teams getting knocked off by other stronger players as in 2010. A lightning strike unlikely to repeat 2 years in a row. Saying they were "well on their way to another title", or were "without a doubt the best team in the land" is to be guilty of ESPN brainwashing.

Duke sucks soooo bad.
I don't see why everyone talks about them like they are good.
NCAA and ESPN won't get off their nuts.
