ASHLAND, Ky. (AP) â School officials in Boyd County say they are on high alert after an attempted abduction.
According to police reports, the grandmother of a Catlettsburg elementary student says a man driving a white van tried to coax her granddaughter off her porch and into his vehicle.
Boyd County Safe Schools Coordinator Richard Cyrus told The Independent (http://bit.ly/I49rJa) that the incident last week has raised concerns because it is similar to other reports of attempted abductions in West Virginia. He says parents, students and school personnel should "be alert and be careful."
