Today was scheduled to be a competency hearing for Kathy Hart but when she failed to show up for court the judge said she had no choice but to issue a warrant for her arrest.
Kathy and Anthony Hart were indicted in May of 2011. Police say they were offering men sexual favors with their middle school aged daughters in exchange for money, clothes, and food.
Police say they were tipped off after a teacher noticed the two girls standing outside a movie theater, wearing next to nothing, in freezing cold temperatures.
The couple was set to go on trial in February but the trial was delayed.
Kathy Hart was supposed to be in court today for a hearing to determine her competency. The prosecutor in the case told the judge Hart had contacted her office saying she didn't find out about today's court hearing until yesterday.
The judge issued a warrant for her arrest and said the competency hearing would be handled the next time Hart was in court.
Tomorrow is a status hearing for both Kathy and Anthony Hart. That's when a trial could be scheduled.
