Terry Wright,Kelsey Friend,Summer Jones, and the Kid who played Football there...I think his name was Dusty Wright(was one of the fastest players in east kentucky?? This probabily isn't the best list but I'm not the bigges SV Fan eighter...lol:thumpsup:

The Akers boys were descent basketball players but neighter of them had much athleticism IMO...Phillip was probabily the most athletic one but couldn't shoot as good as Jeremy or Shannon.

did everybody forget about chase haley?

Hard to pick 5 athletes from SV because not many of them have the heart to play more than one sport. That's why the little maroon school down the road still pushes them around in nearly every sport.....still.

Here is one for you with a huge heart.....Patrick Tackett....the pickens are slim after that if you are looking for 2-sport athletes!!

You cannot consider Paul Flemming and Courtney Bentley a true athelete. They only played one sport.

What about Jamie Roberts, David Bowling, Mikey Hall, Jeremy Johnson, Johnny Alvin, Joe Don Cole, Sterlin Isaac, Patrick Tackett, Nathan Berger

Nice post stands bringing in some of the old schoolers. Back when it meant something to represent our schools. Not saying those guys r old, just that those guys loved to compete.

I agree. True athletes play more than one sport.

Being an athlete doesn't mean you play all sports or more than one sport.

Being an athlete is about being athletic. How high could these guys jump? How fast could they run? How strong were they?

Some of the best athletes I have ever seen never played any sports. But they were athletes. They just chose not to participate in extra-curricular activities.

If you rate athletes the way some you guys do, then the worst athlete in the school who "participates" in football, basketball, and baseball would be considered a better athlete than the star basketball player who chose to focus on one sport.

Point being this......Participation does not equal Athletic ability.
