Congrats to Tim Rice and the Lady Warriors on a great season! Once again, Coach Rice has done an outstanding job with such a young team. The future looks bright for the Lady Warriors!

I was really looking forward to seeing a Pulaski/Southwestern Semifinal game but, I guess it wasn't meant to happen. Congrats to the Lady Warriors on a great season!

One thing I have always known and some others may have found out last night is that Tim Rice is one heck of a basketball coach. To prepare that team of young ladies after the first loss to Mercer by 29 (just ten days ago) to make them believe they could win is astounding. Southwestern was ready to play and took the game to Mercer. My compliments to this young lady warrior team and to Coach Rice for an amazing job. He was Coach of the Year in the 12th region last year and most deservably should win the award again this year. Not sure if it has been announced yet or not but to accomplish what he did this year with basically a freshmen team he should be unanimous choice. Congrats Lady Warriors on a great season.

he Lady Titans broke their two year tradition of losing in the first round of the 12th Region Tournament Monday night in a game that went down to the last shot. After losing to Monticello in the 2009-10 season and to Garrard County in the 2010-11 season, Mercer defeated the Lady Warriors of Southwestern, 49-48.
The first quarter, just like most of the game, went back and forth between to two teams. Mercer and Southwestern exchanged the lead six times in the opening eight minutes before going into the second quarter tied at 14-14.
