#1
Mr. Football in the state of Kentucky signs with University of Kentucky!

I guess if you were living under a rock, this was already known a year ago

Commitments do not mean a thing until the paper work is signed.

Patrick and any other high school player could make a commitment to any school, and then change his mind until the paper is signed.

Today is the big day for many high school players to sign. So ekff is rightfully excited that he did not change his mind. I know a recruiter from another BCS school that had tried to recruit Patrick and hoped Patrick changed his mind.

Many college coaches were very anxious last night about their recruits.

Towels just signed his letter this morning at 7 am.

Read on Kentucky.com that Patrick will compete for the Starting Job in the fall

Towels will play! He is a special kind of player and will show all the doubters out there. A ton of athletic talent and smart to go along with it. He is going to be fun to watch.

Whitlow is being recruited to run the Wildcat. Kentucky didn't have that last year until Matt Roark emerged against Tennessee. He will get a crack at QB but his future is probably at WR.

Towles is the future of the QB position at UK. He may not play this year, but he will most certainly get his shot at it.

i was just saying what the radio guys here in jonesboro from scout.com,said that on KY board, he was there number 1 recruit,Whitlow was here 2 wks agao and verbally comiited to Arkansas State, they say he backed out because KY told him he would play qb there...anyway i wish him the best...

Just read in an article where Towles called Joker and asked him what time he could sign. The article made it sound like Joker was alittle worried that maybe Towles was going to wait and think about it. As it turned out , Towles singed first thing in the morning. In my opinion setting the tone for the rest of the signings for Kentucky on February 1.

The official signing at Highlands did not take place until 3:00 pm.

Congrats to Patrick and really like his style.

Great pick up! UK finished according to Scout with the 31st best recruiting class.
#15
Heck yeah.

Another loyal kentucky boy at QB we have had good luck with that kind of kid. Tim Couch, J-load, Andre Woodson, and there a many more. Towels will no doubt be in that group a few years down the road.
#17
First, a minor point worth making because hopefully we'll be hearing a lot of good things about the kid over the next several years: his last name is spelled Towles.

Second, UK fans from throughout the state are really going to like this kid. Super polite; squeaky clean; will attend class and do well academically; and won't be involved in off the field problems. I fully understand Joker's comments about Pat becoming the face of UK football.

Third, I don't want to start some debate, but having watched and followed Highlands very closely for a long time, I think that Towles is coming to UK much more advanced and ready for the leap to SEC football than Lorenzen did. A large part of that goes in part to Lorenzen's coaching of Towles two years ago and a large part of that goes in part to Collinsworth's work with the offense this past year. Prior to this past season, I don't think Mueller ever allowed one of his QBs to audible at the LOS; this year he allowed it. Collinsworth convinced Mueller to let Towles do it. Collinsworth also worked very closely with Towles in reading defenses and checking down the receivers. Collinsworth also instituted more sophisticated passing routes. Plus unlike Lorenzen, Towles went to the Elite 11 finals and got some big time coaching out there.

I have no clue if Pat will get the starting nod this Fall or whether he'll even get on the field at all. It's a big leap from high school to college football. It's a bigger leap from high school to D1 football. It's a really huge leap from high school to the SEC. But if anyone can do it, I think Pat has a good of a chance as anyone.

I cant wait to see him succeed.

I think it's direspectful. Don't you agree Bob? This kid is the most written about player in the state! Must be on purpose!

For anyone that misspelled it, I know you did not do it on purpose, but be ready for slanderous comments coming your way for perceived disrespect!

I don't think anyone misspelled it on purpuse or to be disrespectful. Just thought people would want to know the correct way to spell the kid's last name.
#21
Hopefully he can learn to walk away from the buffet in the school cafe unlike that other former Highlands QB

No, I'm completely confident that it was an honest mistake, but we have many that feel that someone with the notoriety of the top player in the state, the names should not be mistaken

Maybe they are all posting from iPads or iPhones which WILL automatically change Towles to Towels. Trust me, my iPhone has done that!

Go big Blue (and this time I mean UK and NOT Highlands)!
#24
I think that towles has a real shot at coming in and starting as a freshman his toughest competition will be max smith after the year that morgan had last year i will be shocked if he is the starting qb in september

Dont be so "RUDE", Dusty. I thought this was supposed to be a "congrats Patrick" thread. Let it die and move on. Towels or Towles? It's like Reed or Reid, Slone or Sloan, Green or Greene, Wales, Wails or Whales. They're all pronounced the same, and is not a play on a name. Big difference. You typed the other one a hundred times and then make the statement you had never heard the name before, after multiple people call you out. Yeah, right.

Anyways, I would much rather have meaningful civil discussions than to beat this one to death. So let it go. How about it?

But if you want to continue to call me out.................

You are correct in your examples being pronounced the same. However Towles and Towels are not pronounced the same. It's pronounced as if it was spelled "tolls".....like the tolls you pay when driving on the Chicago beltway.

 I could have used the example of Tolls vs. Towles then. I personally have never heard his name verbally spoken, only read it.

Anyways, to get to the original context of the thread. Congratulations to Patrick. I sure hope he can help right the ship at UK.

Congrats to Patrick, it's good to see a young man sign with whom he first stated he would sign with without all the big hoop la!!!
