STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Jerry Sandusky, the retired Penn State assistant coach who faces child sex abuse charges in a case that led to the firing of Joe Paterno, called the death of his former boss a sad loss Sunday.
"This is a sad day! Our family, Dottie and I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to Sue and her family," Sandusky said in a statement. "Nobody will be able to take away the memories we all shared of a great man, his family, and all the wonderful people who were a part of his life."
Sandusky is awaiting trial on 52 criminal counts for what prosecutors say was sexual abuse of 10 children over 15 years. He denies the allegations.
Sandusky was Paterno's top assistant for years until he retired in 1999, and he said he remembered Paterno as a great man who met high standards in a difficult job.
"He maintained a high standard in a very difficult profession. Joe preached toughness, hard work and clean competition," Sandusky said. "Most importantly, he had the courage to practice what he preached."

âRelax, all right? Donât try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, theyâre fascist. Throw some ground balls â itâs more democratic.â

haha good idea.
Well, you get the death penalty for taking a life. By molesting a child your taking his or her life way and scarring him or her for life. Thus, ending a life pretty much.
Hang his ass.

Whether you blame Joe or not, I consider Sandusky to have a huge part of his passing.

Agreed. Joe was not the one who committed the awful crimes. I have my own feelings of Joe, but it certainly is Sandusky that is the evil one here.

I don't think child molestation would ever be punishable by the death penalty.
I do think they could get these sickos in there for life though.
They usually only spend a few years in prison then have to register their name on the sex offenders registry.
That's not enough....

Prison averages something around $20,000 a year per inmate its a numbers game.

Most of the time, even if they got the death penalty, they sit on death row for 20 years. I have a much better idea. I say, just turn them loose. Dont give them a police escort. Dont give them protection leaving the court house. Dont help them in any way. Impound their vehicles, and plaster their crimes on every TV channel, on every window in town, put fliers under every wiper, and in every mailbox and inform the public of the day of their release from the court house, and also inform the public that no action will be taken if anything happens to the child abuser/molester, and just set them free. I have a feeling the rest will take care of itself.

I wouldn't mind taking their lives from them. I'd be more than happy to take care of this problem.
