Whitley County 53 South Laurel 41
#1
Final.

Whitley improves to 4-0.

Im honestly surprised South even kept it this close but we knew theyd bring a game to us as they always do.
Whitley could have blown this wide open, but with a young team they relaxed and let South crawl back into it a bit. It was 29-12 at halftime.
Smith was held under 20 for the first time this season with 13. Craig didnt play well only scoring 2. Anderson had a pretty good showing with 11.

South Laurel 7 5 16 13 41
Whitley Co. 8 21 8 16 53

South Laurel -- M. Clontz 13, Author 9, Johnson 6, E. Clontz 10, Parker 3.Whitley Co. -- Powers 6, Smith 13, Craig 2, Johnson 2, Anderson 11, Sizemore 5, Holbrook 2, Dingess 7, Jones 5.

I heard it was one of the poorest officiated games (in favor of South Laurel) to ever be called at Lawson Gymnasium. Craig sat almost the whole first half with two quick phantom fouls, but contributed defensively with several blocked shots and double digit rebounding.:Sad04: Great TEAM WIN!! Keep believing in yourselves.....GO LADY COLONELS!!!

The game was officiated very well. Coach Anderson had no,no,no complaints with the way it was called..Coach never questioned one call.. ( 3 seconds one time)Smile We played very passive the 3rd quarter and South cut into the lead.. South out played us in the 3rd.. Fouls was 9-Whitley 0 South.. I am telling you that it should have been 13 whitley 0 south.. ever foul that was called was there!

South will be pretty good at mid season
They play as good of De as any team in the region Smith had 13 but I think `9 of them come on free throws at the end of the game

I'm just going by what I heard......but for Whitley to have 9 fouls while South had 0 fouls (at Home) doesn't seem realistic to me. South was down 17 at the half, so that means they would of had to play extra hard to catch up. And you expect us to believe they never commited any fouls, played perfect basketball? Somebody needs to call Guiness Book of Records if this is true! :biglmao: Confusedilly:

Like you should have been at the Corbin/Bell game before you start making statements as to where the ref's were from. Oh I know, you're special and are all knowing as to what ref's and where they live are calling all 50th District games.Confusedhh:
