NCC has a bad season this year, what will become of the program? Will they ever be able to compete with the big boys again? Will they ever be able to compete with the little boys again? Will they be a contender in their class?

Birds vs. Breds: bring back the rivalry and I think Dale won't run up the score.

NCC was the best team in 2A of the year. One night HC was the better team, and thats how it goes in football.
NCC will be good again next year. They will need to fill the gap of Highchew but I think Mac Frazier will be a force the next couple years at QB.
Eviston will probably play HHS in upcoming years, he's a competitive guy.

Yeah, we used to play every year... The Ft Thomas Bowl.
It was fun playing them because it was kids you knew and grew up with. Kids that played in the fort thomas jr football league.

Mac Franzen is a sophomore and will likely be moved to QB for his Jr. and Sr. seasons.

I don't think NCC was the best team in 2A this year. HC wasnt just better one night. That game was dominated by HC. NCC will be back and just as good as they always are next year. They may even win state next year. However, HC was no fluke and deserves to be called the best in 2A this year. Eviston will schedule Highlands at some point, but why should he be in a hurry to do so. He is a very smart guy, a competitive guy, and will always accept a challenge. He is doing a good job by getting alot of the big boys on his schedule in NKY every year. Highlands, you do you and continue to be great, and Eddie at NCC will do NCC and make them great as well. HC will continue to build on what they did this season and try to make HC and NCC a great rivalry. Every district needs a rivalry to be competitive down state. Just ask Beechwood

I'll bite for arguments sake.
I'm not sure that I can agree with your assessment of NCC and HC. You say that HC was not just the better team on one night, but the best team in 2A altogether.
I disagree with that. On that one night, HC beat NCC by three points. That's not enough of a margin to say that HC was dominately better than NCC and could easily be viewed as HC was better that night.
One month earlier, NCC beat HC by 17 points. That was a convincing victory by NCC on that night.
Against arguably one of the best football teams in the state, HC was beaten by Beechwood by a margin of 43 points. NCC lost to Beechwood, but in a closely contested game that saw NCC lose by 9 points.
NCC played three 6A schools and beat them all. If I put the body of work done by each team, I'll say what I said all year long, NCC was the best 2A team in the state. They did lose on one night, which was the wrong night. But had NCC won the HC playoff game, then NCC would have won the state championship as well. I said in that game, the winner of the HC/NCC match-up would win the title.
But I do put into question your reasoning that HC was not just better that one night? I'm not saying you are wrong, but I think the NCC faithful have a good case to say they lost on the wrong night. I use the analogy of the Patriots in their undefeated season. They lost the Super Bowl to the Giants, but there is no one that will intelligently argue that the Giants were not just the best team that night, not for the season and had those teams played 10 times, the Patriots would have won the bulk of those games.

HC did not sneak uo on NCC when they won. NCC faithful have seen this coming for the last few years.
HC used the season loss to NCC to learn from and made the needed adjustments. NCC did not learn from their win over us. We won when it counted and are the best in the state in 2A.Cant change that this year. I would bet HC would win 4 of 5 if they played them right now. They should have won the last game by more than 3 pts as well.just wanted to add that.

Playing and beating three 6A schools only means something if you can beat the schools in your own class when it counts.

Dixie Heights, Campbell, and SK. A combined record of 9-25

LOL, I love all the HC faithful reading the words but not the content. I responded to the original post that NCC was not the best 2A team in the state and HC's win was not just a "one night" happening. I said "NCC faithful" have an argument to that! Good lord, looks like some when some fans of teams who will not be mentioned, get their feelings hurt! Relax, I did not take ANYTHING away from HC...........

I will use your logic to debate this question. Since HC was blown out by BW earlier in the season, and NCC played very close with BW when they played, shouldnt NCC have blown out HC as well? BW beat NCC without Hightchew in the second half as well. Statistically, HC dominated the second meeting. Anyone at the game will tell you HC dominated that matchup. The BW game taught HC where they were weak and they fixed it and it showed leaps and bounds. Anyone that knows football would agree that BW would not beat HC like they did at the beginning of the season, if at all. NCC beating the rest of the teams on their schedule is a testament to them being a good football team, but at the end of the year, HC would beat those same teams imo.

So let's go back to your statement. You said that NCC was not the better team all year, thus you are insinuating that HC was? That can't be possible if HC lost to NCC earlier in the year. So, with the other body of work, I think NCC fans can argue they were the better team until at least the 10/22 game. After that, the best team in 2A may have changed, but it's awfully hard to argue that HC was the best 2A team all year. At the end of the year, when it counted, yes. But how can you say all year, which is what the argument was in the first place by Birdman, which you disputed?
LOL, I'm not knocking HC. I thought HC would beat NCC in October, but the game was a 17 point margin, which changed not only mine, but a lot of peoples opinions. HC changed that in November, winning by 3.
I used Beechwood as a comparable game, which indicates to me, that when each team played Beechwood, NCC's performance was better than HC's, thus it adds to my thought that during the season, until at least 10/22, NCC was the better 2A team.
Keep the debate to what the original comment was and I have yet to be convinced that HC was the best team in 2A the entire season.

you're right, Holy Cross wasn't the best team the entire season, but they have a state title that proves they were the best team at the end of the year.
Also, HC played a healthy Beechwood team while HC was still figuring out their defense. NCC played a banged up Beechwood team in week 10 and ncc didn't have questions that needed to be addressed at the time.

HC wasnt the best team in 2A the entire year, but it doesnt matter how you start, it matters how you finish. They finished as the best team of the 2011 year. NCC was the best team in 2A for the regular season, I will give you that. HC was the best team in the second half of the season, which you agree with. I think that this topic is suppose to be about NCC, thus I do believe that NCC will reload like they always do and be one of the top teams in the area once again. It will be up HC to build on the momentum they gained this year and be consistent year in and year out

A. Beechwood(but no state title)
B. Holy Cross(State Title)
C. NCC(weakest team on the board,no title, and embarrassed in playoffs)
D. Highlands (60 pts better than all the above)
E. Both B and D.
Who would you rather be? Acceptable answer this year B or E. Best answer D.

I just enjoy taking shots at NCC. Like I always say, "some good people, weak little school football."
