Coach: Bryan O’Neill (first year).

Last season: 8-19, lost to Seneca 104-75 in 27th District semifinal.

Player to watch: Joseph Head, a 5-9 junior guard, averaged just 2.7 points and 1.1 rebounds last season but “has made tremendous gains over the summer and into the fall,” O’Neill said. “He is a heady point guard who is able to score the ball.”

Other top players: G Camden Newton (5-11, Sr., 5.2 ppg, 1.9 rpg); F Brandon Millner (6-3, Sr., 1.2 ppg, 1.1 rpg).

Outlook: O’Neill replaces Toby Curry as coach and inherits a program that lost seven of its top eight scorers. Newton is the top returning scorer and may be the best shooter. Head likely will emerge as the top scorer, and Millner provides athleticism and size from the wing. O’Neill was an assistant coach at Ballard, his alma mater, last season and has been an assistant at Western Kentucky and Tennessee. He also was head coach for two seasons at Cincinnati’s Cardinal Pacelli.
