Hey guys:
Tuesday I was told as of October 1st I will no longer have a job.
I've put in for everything coming and going but 2 months is a pretty short period to get a new job so I may have to look into unemployment benefits if I don't have a new job by October.
Does anyone have an understanding as to how it works?
I've tried to call and get some info but I'm not getting a lot of help from the unemployment office.
They are just telling me to apply when I officially get laid off.
How big of a pay cut would I take?
How long will it last?
What is the impact of this debt ceiling issue?

I've been very fortunate & only had to apply once in my life & it was a 3 week period. All i can tell you is even if you are denied the first time to keep calling in your checks for unemployment each week. If & when you are approved they will back up & pay you for those checks. If you dont call them in you will not be paid for that period of time.
I know there are several extentions you can apply for if you go a long period of time without a job, but not sure of how any of that works. Just be sure to call in your checks each week.
Good luck in finding a job.
