One of the elite players in Kentucky, Owensboro Catholic High School sophomore Becca Greenwell is taking her game to the international stage.
Greenwell was one of 12 players that made the USA Basketball Women's U16 team national team after four days of tryouts.
The 6-foot-1 Greenwell, who is considered one of the top prospects nationally in the Class of 2013, was the only player from the Bluegrass State to make the team. Marion County's Makayla Epps also tried out for the team.
The U16 national team will represent the U.S. in the 2011 FIBA Americas U16 Championship June 13-18 in Mérida, Mexico. The top three finishing teams at the '11 FIBA Americas U16 Championship will earn a berth into the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship.
Also making the team was Brownsburg, Ind., standout Stephanie Mavunga.
