7th grader Q Baker of Boyd Middle recently had a jump of 19'5" in a meet at Ashland Verity..Just curious how this distance stacks up against other Middle School long jumpers.

On the KY track site, Q Baker is ranked second with a jump of 18-7.5 among middle schoolers. The leader has a jump of 19-2. Another middle school kid who jumps for varsity team (Loan Oak) has a jump of 19-8.25. So he is easily in the top three for middle schoolers. If he continues on the right track, he should be a good jumper in high school in a couple of years.

Yes she is, thanks for asking. Track is alot different than Cross Country, but she is doing pretty well. She qualified for three events for tomorrow nights Elite Area 5 Championship meet (she is only going to do 2 events), and should also advance to state in three events if she continues to run like she is currently.
