Carlisle County has been randomly competitive in other sports such as basketball and baseball. But the underlying issue is resources. It is like the Menifee County of the west - there is just very little tax base or development there.
Does anyone know what happened further with this situation? I think I had heard about this one.
Are there any more stories like this?
Did any of the schools mentioned previously have football? If so, why did they get rid of it?

Oneida Baptist Institute does not have a football team

I do know there are some in the 16th who don't play. Elliott County and Rose Hill are two that come to mind right away.
Menifee County too. But Menifee has a soccer program. So I think they could have football. Also, St. Patrick, Deming, and Augusta from the 10th do not have football.

Excellent point. Can't say it any better.
Thanks for the info.

If OBI had some big farm kids that went to that school from Clay County, they would have a good team. They have a lot of athletes that play basketball.

Is it possible for some of these smaller schools that are near each other to form a conglomerate team? What are the rules on that?

Carlisle County did have a couple of discussions on football and it is my understanding that funding was the problem. They were exploring bingo options as a source of funding as recent as early this school year or atleast had made a few inquiries.

Hope they are able to get something together. It'd be a great thing for the community.
Anyone else have any insights to any of these schools?
