Heavily being recruited by several D1 schools like Tennessee , Uk , UofL , Cincinnati , UCLA , Stanford , Michigan , Ball State. Along with more small schools

I have seen him play many times and IMO he is the best. I'm a little partial to East Players because my son played there. Most will say it is Wales from Central with 8 offers and already invited to play in the US Army All-American game.

I believe that the name across the front of the jersey limits the success players at east have. for example say Templin and Mincks played for Trinity or Lex Cath/LCA in highschool, you would see both of them wearing D1 jerseys next year.

You're exactly right. If you are good enough, they don't care who you play for. Division 1 college recruiters aren't going to offer or not offer a kid that because of the name on the front of his jersey.
College recruiters aren't going to look at two kids, both standing 5'11 190, playing RB, both with legit 4.5 40's, 300 Bench, 275 Clean(s), 350+ squads and offer one because, "Oh he plays for Trinity! Sign him up!" and not the other because "He plays for East Jessamine." My guess, is that the one that isn't getting offered, and I'm sure this will hurt some feelings(but honestly typically does) just isn't good enough right now.
If the kid is good enough, he will play Division 1 because Coach Bowlin is definately one of the men out there who does all he can for his players and more. If he doesn't get offered, it sure won't be because film wasn't sent out and contacts weren't made.
I have no idea how good this young man is, personally, I hope he is the next Reggie Bush phenom and he's just flown under the radar, but some don't realize just how dang good you have to be to play Division 1 football. You'd better have a great deal of size, speed, agility, smarts and strength for your anticipated position(s) or at least have numbers through the roof in a couple of those areas, if you don't posses all of them.

I do agree with you there. and Thomas does lack size for a D1 back. But if youve seen him play its almost impossible to tackle him 1on1. Crazy elusiveness and he will lower the boom when needed. I do belive the only player that could repeatedly tackle him 1on1 is Lamar Dawson.

IMO, best RB in the state is Central's Wales, I'm sure Thomas is very good too, but Wales is on pace to become the ALL TIME leading rusher in the HISTORY of Kentucky High School Football this season. And IMO, the most impressive thing about Wales stats is the fact that he has put those kind of numbers up against the some best of the best 6A teams in the state with Centrals beast of a schedule every year. Central doesnt even play a team smaller than 6A until they have to in district play. Best of luck to both talented RBs Thomas and Wales in 2011

wales then thomas. jude follows though cant forget him

What is East jessamines schedule for 2011?

I agree that both of these young men are good and top in the state along with Jude from JC. But the best RB in the state is Travis Elliott from Ryle, has the size 6'0 225 and runs a 4.55 forty. Playing against the best in the state and rushed for 2300 yards last year. He has the size for D1 and the ability. Best of luck to all these guys next year

He is pretty good. He single handedly dominated Southwestern last year.

Would have been intresting to see Davenport's stats for Bell had he have gottent to play 4 quarters in 10 games over his first 3 years. Not likely to be different this year playing weaker competition in 3A - they will have more blow outs and more time for him to watch from the sidelines.
But to be sure - he is one of the top 5 or 10 backs in the state easy.

Seen both Thomas and Wales play last year and the are both great backs. They will both play at a high level of football in collage but I would go with Thomas. Best of luck to both young men this season.

i would go as far to say top ten but just missing top 5, great back and with tremendous speed. i was wondering who took over the bell county job with hilton going to pikeville? with you being a local from the area i was wanting know your opinion if you think bell will be like they always are or will the move of hilton hurt them and create a down year for bell? whats your thoughts?

Wayne Mills is now leading the Bobcats. They moved out of 4A to 3A and are no longer in our district. We don't get to play them as they took us off their schedule - their choice not ours.
Coach Mills is a good coach who will continue to do things the way Bell likes them. They are playing in a weaker division of football which will help them continue to do well. But I honestly think when Davenport graduates they will find out then if the Bell tradition will continue. While he is there they could have the Tuba player coach and go 10-3 so long as he could run the sweep. But Mills proved himself at Knox so overall, I think they will be fine.

If you play in Ala.,Ga.,Fl.,Tex. then it don't matter who you play for. Look at UL, UK and WKU recruiting class, and then tell me it does'nt matter what high school in KY you play for.

He is really, really good and should have a great season. I believe East schedule just got a lot weaker too, which will help. I won't have to play LexCath or Boyle County. Plus, the 5A eastern side of the bracket is pretty weak. This may enable East to make a good run in the playoffs.

There are 8 running backs recognized by Rivals for 2012 in the state of Kentucky and he is not one of them.
Scout.com has Anthony Wales as a 3 star and no other running back in Kentucky currently has any.

Speaking of Travis Elliott I just watched this kid in his first track meet at Ryle tonight! Winning the 100 meter sprint and defeating last years regional champion! At 215 lbs and running 11.02 in the 100 I was very impressed! They should have let him throw the shot put also! The kid is huge!
